Universitas `Aisyiyah Yogyakarta held a 2021 UNISA GOWES (UWES) event and planted trees by all lecturers and employees, Friday (Jun/11).
The first UWES 2021 on “Innovative Collective Movement in Adapting to New Habits” was held Offline, while still going health protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic, such as wearing masks, carrying hand sanitizers, and keeping the distance, according to the directions from the Unisa Yogyakarta Covid-19 task force team.
The Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat conveyed that the cycling activity would be followed by tree planting was a series of Unisa Yogyakarta’s 30th Anniversary, and 104th Anniversary of `Aisyiyah, and following the declaration by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X in the framework of Hamemayu Hayuning Bawana.
“By cycling, we will make our souls and minds healthy, also the purpose of tree planting is to create a Green Campus in conserving the environment,” said Warsiti.
Warsiti added that the seed tree planting is a form of Unisa Yogyakarta’s to support of 5 million living barns program for food security which was initiated by the Central Executive `Aisyiyah. The types of plant seeds to be planted consist of shady plants, fruits, decorative plants, toga plants, and palawija. The whole series of events would be carried out with health protocols. The event was attended by 85 employees of Unisa Yogyakarta by cycling around the campus area.
