In order to prevent early marriage among adolescents in South Kalimantan, students of the Master of Midwifery Study Program at the University of ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta<\/a> conducted direct education to adolescents, this activity was also in the context of taking empowerment practices in midwifery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eka Damayanti, a student of the Master of Midwifery<\/a> Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, educated teenagers with the theme Empowering Teenagers Through Kotesa (Peer Counselor) innovation in preventive efforts with the Health Belief Model<\/em> approach, the activity was held at the Banjarmasin `Aisyiyah Orphanage on Monday (10\/06).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eka explained that education for teenagers is very important to provide knowledge about the impact of early marriage for teenagers, especially women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to increase knowledge and awareness for teenagers about the dangers of early marriage, of course this activity is expected to reduce the number of early marriages in South Kalimantan,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this activity, Dr. Dhesi Ari Astuti, M.Kes as an academic supervisor and Prof. Dr. Mufdlilah, SIT., M.Sc as the person in charge of the empowerment practice of ‘Asyiyah University Yogyakarta Admittedly, most teenagers who commit early marriage because of the lack of knowledge they get about the dangers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Dra. Hj Ida Rahmatiah, MM, Chairperson of Banjarmasin Branch 8, said she was very appreciative of this educational activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI hope that through education that is routinely carried out, teenagers can gain knowledge and this will be able to prevent it,\u201d said Ida.
