Warsiti invited the entire academic community to take a role to have a real impact on society.

“This year’s anniversary theme, Caring for Excellence, Advancing the Nation, is not just a ceremonial expression. It is a call to keep moving, improving, and bringing benefits. We should be grateful for various achievements, superior predicate institutionally,” said Warsiti, during the 34th Anniversary Reflection of Unisa Yogyakarta, at Walidah Dahlan Mosque, Wednesday (4/6/2025).

Warsiti reminded that the achievements that Unisa Yogyakarta has achieved today are not an end, but a foothold towards a bigger phase. “Become a campus that has a real impact on the nation and the world,” said Warsiti.

Warsiti said that an impactful campus is a living campus. Alive with ideas, discussions, works, and values. “Of course it does not come by itself, but from consistent work, the courage to change and the commitment of collective sincerity,” Warsiti said.

Warsiti invited the Unisa Yogyakarta academic community to maintain the trust that has been pioneered for 34 years or even more than that. “Don’t let excellence become an empty slogan. Take care of excellence with enthusiasm and cooperation, create a conducive atmosphere, support each other and build a climate of trust, develop positive thinking, and remind each other in goodness,” said Warsiti.

To have a real impact on society, Warsiti invited lecturers, education staff, and students to interpret their respective roles and responsibilities. Lecturers are expected to build the classroom, not only as a place to transfer knowledge, but as a garden of ideas.

“Be present as an inspirer, not just a teacher. Research and community service must touch the root of society’s problems, and contribute relevant and applicable solutions,” said Warsiti.

Warsiti asked lecturers to make students good partners, and never feel that lecturers are superior. “Knowledge can be taught by anyone, but character is formed by example. That is the true power of a lecturer,” said Warsiti.

Warsiti also reminded the education staff who are the first face of Unisa Yogyakarta. The education staff should not just run the system, but form a superior system. “Make every administrative process a form of care, and every interaction a proof of sincerity,” said Warsiti.

Warsiti also advised students who are the heirs and guardians of the future. “Don’t be passive. Be part of innovations, ideas, and movements of change. Develop cross-field potential, engage in multidisciplinary activities, and be prepared to be agents of transformation wherever you are,” said Warsiti.

She also mentioned the challenges of digitalization, which must be used to expand collaboration and strengthen potential. “Take care and prove the mandate of your parents (students) with your achievements and strength of character,” said Warsiti.

The Daily Supervisory Board (BPH) of Unisa Yogyakarta, Mohammad Adam Jerusalem, invited to be grateful for the achievements of Unisa Yogyakarta up to 34 years. “Gratitude, hopefully the gifts and achievements of Unisa Yogyakarta will be better,” Adam said.

Adam also said that this momentum is a reflection or in Latin reflectere which means bending back. “Etymologically, it is bent again in the right direction, if something is wrong,” he said.

Adam invites this moment of reflection to look back critically, and plan for future improvements. “Systematically, mechanically and organizationally the best. We need to absorb this reflection,” Adam said.

Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (PP), Muhammad Sayuti, appreciated the achievements of Unisa Yogyakarta so far. One of them achieved superior accreditation in a short time. “Unisa Yogyakarta is the shortest Muhammadiyah university to achieve superior accreditation,” Sayuti said.

Sayuti invited the Unisa Yogyakarta academic community to be grateful for being part of the organization. This cannot be separated because various positive achievements have also been made by Muhammadiyah.

Tags: aisyiyah, banggamenjadiunisa, beunisa, Milad, unisayogya

News, News Rector of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (Unisa) Yogyakarta, Warsiti emphasized that the theme of the 34th anniversary ‘Caring for Excellence, Advancing the Nation’ is not just a ceremonial expression, this theme is a call to continue to move, improve, and bring benefits.
