The Coordinator of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) of Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta organized a journalism training at Siti Walidah Building, on Sunday (25\/5\/2025). This activity is an effort from the UNISA IMM Student Council to reignite the spirit of democracy on the UNISA campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korkom IMM UNISA Chairperson, Abdul Khalim Mubaroq said in his speech that he planned to establish a Student Press Organization (LPM) as a follow-up plan to this training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis press organization is not only to provide a space for UNISA students to aspire, but also to improve their writing skills. This is very much needed in the academic world, for example making theses, articles, papers and opinions,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with that, the advisor of Korkom IMM UNISA, Fajrus Shodiq, S.IP., M.KP, also expressed his welcome and appreciation. He emphasized that this journalistic training activity could be a path to the future professional world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis can be a good preparation, I think, to be a reinforcement for the capacity of UNISA students as a whole and self-development on this occasion,\u201d Shodiq said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this training, Korkom IMM UNISA presented Aan Ardiyanto, a senior journalist from Media and Communication (Medkom) of Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (PP) as the main speaker. In his presentation, he discussed the basics of journalism, news coverage techniques, and the importance of maintaining journalistic ethics in conveying information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training atmosphere was active and interactive. Participants not only listened to the material, but were also invited to practice directly writing news based on simulated events. The enthusiasm of the participants could be seen from the lively discussions and critical questions posed to the speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the participants, Anggi Vinatasya, a student of UNISA’s Information Technology Program, expressed her enthusiasm after participating in this activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe benefit that I feel from this class is that besides getting knowledge in the form of theory, we also get the practical part of writing. So it complements each other, our writing can also be corrected directly, it turns out we have to write like this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This journalism training confirms the role of IMM as a student organization that is not only engaged in regeneration and advocacy, but also contributes to building a healthy, critical, and productive climate of campus democracy through literacy and journalistic work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
