97 UNISA JOGJA STUDENTS GET SCHOLARSHIPS FROM THE SLEMAN GOVERNMENT’S JPS PROGRAM

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta attended the handover ceremony of Jaring Pengaman Sosial (JPS) Program scholarships to selected students in collaboration with the Sleman Regency Government.

The scholarship handover was held at the Parasamya Sleman pavilion on Wednesday (11/10) and was attended by the Regent of Sleman Dra. Kustini Sri Purnomo and the Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat. along with their respective staffs. A total of 97 students who received the JPS program, came from Sleman Regency from various study programs in Unisa Jogja.

In her speech, the Regent of Sleman said that the students who received the JPS scholarship were included in the selected category, considering that only 200 out of 700 prospective students were entitled to receive this program. She emphasized that moral intelligence alone is not enough, and students who receive this scholarship are also expected to be socially and spiritually intelligent.

“The JPS program is not only to develop academic capacity, but also to form a strong character and have high social awareness in order to develop Sleman Regency,” said Kustini.

The Regent of Sleman hopes that the students who receive this scholarship can make the best use of the quality that available at UNISA Jogja. The Regent reminded the students to always be committed to learn and develope, not only as smart individuals, but also as agents of positive change in society.

Rector of UNISA Jogja Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, also gave a speech at the event. The Rector expressed her hope that the students who receive scholarships from the Sleman Regency Government will become qualified human beings and contribute to build and advance Sleman, and of course for the Indonesian nation as a whole.

“UNISA continues to be committed to collaborate with the Sleman Regency Government to educate future generations. We hope this collaboration will provide great benefits for the development of education and development in Sleman,” said Warsiti. The distribution of scholarships for the Social Safety Net Program is a concrete step in supporting the education and character building of a quality young generation. With the support from UNISA Yogyakarta and the Sleman Regency Government, hoped that the scholarship recipients will be able to develop their potential to the fullest and become agents of positive change in society.
