UNISA YOGYAKARTA PROVIDE TO THE FIRST FEMALE PROFESSOR IN INDONESIA IN THE FIELD OF MIDWIFERY SCIENCE

Universitas Aisyiyah Yogyakarta (UNISA) celebrated a historic moment with the acceptance of a Professor Decree (SK), Prof. Mufdlilah, S.Si.T., M.Sc., as the first female professor in Indonesia in the field of Midwifery. The decree was handed over directly by the Head of the Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi (LLDIKTI) Region V, Prof. Drh. Aris Junaidi, Ph.D. The event was attended by various parties, including the Daily Governing Board and University Structural Lineup. The event was held in the courtroom of Siti Moendjiyah Building, UNISA Yogyakarta, Friday (6/10).

Prof. Mufdlilah was very grateful for this achievement. ”This achievement was grateful for me and UNISA of course, in order to support institutional quality assurance with hope that later will be many opportunity to obtain GB functional positions, hopefully it will be meaningful for UNISA”, she said.

In her speech, the Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp.,M.Kep.,Sp.Mat congratulated Professor Mufdlilah for her brilliant achievement.

“On behalf of all leaders, we congratulate Professor Mufdlilah who today has reached the results that has been attempted and supported by the Civitas Akademika. Hopefully today will be a spirit and motivation to continue to strengthen our capacity and quality,” she said.

Warsiti further said that the position of Professor is the top academic position. It is hoped that through this achievement UNISA Yogyakarta will continue to develop into a Superior University.

”Hopefully this achievement will become a positive virus for the community so that we are all eager to achieve Professor,” she hoped.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Badan Pengurus Harian (BPH) of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Noordjannah Djohantini, MM, M.Si said that with the submission of this decree, hopefully UNISA will be superior and advanced. Prof. Mufdlilah is the first midwifery professor in Indonesia, this needs to be appreciated because midwifery is the origin of the establishment of UNISA. Midwifery is closely related to women and UNISA is managed by women’s organizations.

“On behalf of BPH, we are proud of the Professors’ achievements,” said Noordjannah.

Professors at UNISA have responsibilities in education and there are also other missions expected for the Muhammadiyah Association. The presence of professors has a significant and positive impact. Hopefully, they will be more devoted and provide examples for all of us.

The Head of LLDIKTI Region V, Prof. drh Aris Junaidi, Ph.D appreciated Professor Mufdlilah’s achievement. Dedication and commitment in the world of midwifery education is an inspiration for the field of midwifery science. Professor Mufdlilah has shown that by diligently doing the tridarma of higher education, we can reach the academic peak of Professor. This is a clear example that the journey from vocational education to achieving Professor is something that is possible to pursue.

Furthermore, Prof. Aris said that midwifery professors have a significant role in the era of disruption for the world of health.

”Receiving this must be grateful and optimized for the progress of University development, academics, and benefits for the community,” he ordered.

The handover of the Professor Decree in the field of midwifery to Professor Mufdlilah is a new history in the world of midwifery in Indonesia and brings great hope for the development of midwifery and higher education in the country. With high dedication and commitment, Professor Mufdlilah has proven that extraordinary achievements can be achieved with hard work and strong determination.
