A Touching Moment at UNISA Yogyakarta’s Graduation Ceremony: A Tribute to Lintang Ramadhan

The graduation ceremony of Universitas Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta which took place on Saturday, September 30th 2023 was not only special because of the academic achievements of its student, but also because of a touching moment during the graduation ceremony. Lintang Ramadhan, student of the Communication Studies Program, who had passed away, was represented by his parents in diploma ceremony.

At the graduation ceremony that took place in the Convention Hall of the Walidah Dahlan Mosque at UNISA Yogyakarta, Lintang’s parents were present with a photo of their beloved son who had passed away. This moment not only honoured Lintang, but also touched the hearts of all the attendees who felt his presence and spirit.

When it was time for the awarding of the diploma to Lintang to read out, an atmosphere of emotion enveloped the room.

The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, M.Kep., Sp.Mat emphatically handed over Lintang’s diploma of his parents as a sign of appreciation for their child’s dedication and struggle in completing education at UNISA Yogyakarta.

Lintang graduated in August 2023 with honours (cum laude). He created many audios visual work such as the Greatest view from Karang village as part of KKN activities, video profile for Communication study program and the editor of Mr. AR Fachrudin’s Documentary film, often became the cast of University video profile, join Harmonikasa and active in some association activities. The last work (essay) was registered for the UMYGrace 2023 International Seminar but did not has changed to present as a student due to motorcycle accident.

Lintang’s parents received the diploma with sincerity and tear of emotion flowing from their eyes. They received this award as form of love and a lasting memory of their son who had worked hard to achieve a bachelor’s degree.

This touching moment remind us all of the importance of family support in the educational journey and how precious every achievement is. UNISA and the entire audience mourn Lintang’s passing, but this moment is also as a reminder of the spirit and inspiration that we can take from the struggle of the student who preserves in achieving knowledge.

During this moment, UNISA Yogyakarta also emphasized its commitment to always honour and appreciate every student achievement, even after they no longer among us. May the spirit and dedication of Lintang Ramadhan continue to inspire all UNISA Yogyakarta students in their academic journey.
