Antariksa 2025: Greeting Yogyakarta Residents, Socializing the Dangers of Online Gaming
Communication Science students of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (Unisa) Yogyakarta continue to fight the rise of online gambling (judol) which is detrimental to society. This real step was intensified through a series of education in the Unisa Communication Science Student Creativity Event (Antariksa) 2025.
With the theme Stop Clicking Start Living, Antariksa 2025 provided education about the dangers of online gambling to high school students in Yogyakarta last May. The education continued with Sapa Warga activities with the theme ‘Strengthening Empowered Communities, Anti Online Gambling’ in Salakan, Nogotirto, Gamping, Sleman, on Sunday (29/6/2025).
“This socialization not only aims to provide understanding, but also to invite the community to jointly build awareness so that they are better prepared to prevent, face the rise of online gambling. Through this socialization, the Antariksa team is trying to reach people who are often vulnerable to the negative impact of online gambling,” said Chairman of Antariksa 2025, Reza Al-Khifari.
Reza said this step was also in support of continuing to reduce the circulation of online gambling funds, which still reached tens of billions in the first quarter of 2025, although it began to show a decline. Launching data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the turnover of funds related to online gambling in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to IDR 47 trillion, a decline compared to the same period last year, which reached IDR 90 trillion.
In the Sapa Warga event, it was well received by the surrounding community. Head of RT 4 Salakan Hamlet, Agung Dwi Cahyo, said that he welcomed the socialization of online gambling prevention. “The negative impacts of online gambling are many and dangerous. After this socialization, we know how to prevent it early on,” he said.
This socialization is also designed to encourage citizen involvement in voicing the dangers of online gambling through a communicative and easy-to-understand approach, such as open discussions, presentation of educational materials, and direct question and answer sessions with residents. This agenda is also part of a series of Unisa Yogyakarta’s 34th Anniversary.
This socialization also received support from various parties, including the Yogyakarta Special Region Financial Services Authority (OJK DIY), DPD RI DIY, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), and R.A. Yashinta Sekarwangi Mega as a Member of DPD RI Committee IV.
