UNISA Yogyakarta partners with PT Global Rancang Selaras to prepare students for employment

The Architecture Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta continues to boost the quality of its students to be ready to compete in the world of work. Most recently, the program officially established a strategic partnership with PT Global Rancang Selaras, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (26/5) in the courtroom of Siti Moendjijah Building. The event was followed by an inspirational expert lecture.

The MoU signing was attended by UNISA Yogyakarta’s Vice Rector 4, Dr. Moh. Ali Imron, M.Fis, and Director of PT Global Rancang Selaras, Ir. Wahju Wulandari, MBA, IAI, AA, along with leaders from both parties. This cooperation is expected to open the gates of golden opportunities for architecture students.

In his speech, Ali Imron emphasized the importance of this collaboration to hone students’ potential. “With this collaboration, students get the opportunity to show their skills. Hopefully there are positive things that we can develop together,” he said hopefully.

In line with Ali Imron, Wahju Wulandari from PT Global Rancang Selaras also hopes that this collaboration will have a significant impact, both for the students and the company.

“We want our graduates to bring something concrete from here, not just an internship experience,” said Wulandari, signaling a commitment to providing experiences that go beyond theory.

Erlangga Winoto, Chairman of the Indonesian Architecture Association (IAI) D.I. Yogyakarta, also expressed his appreciation. He said that not many campuses have cooperation initiatives like this.

“I hope this collaboration can have a positive impact on students so that they are able to turn challenges into opportunities,” said Erlangga, encouraging the future architects.

This partnership is clear evidence of UNISA Yogyakarta’s commitment to producing professional architects who are ready to face industry challenges and contribute significantly to development.

UNISA Halal Center Trains Yogyakarta Slaughterers to Ensure Slaughter is In Accordance With Islamic Law

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta through the UNISA Halal Center has once again demonstrated its commitment in ensuring halal animal slaughter practices. For the second time, UNISA successfully held Halal Slaughterer training (JULEHA) on Saturday (5/24/2025). A total of 70 participants enthusiastically participated in this training, which ended with the practice of slaughtering 3 goats and 20 chickens according to Islamic law in the parking lot of Walidah Dahlan Mosque.

Chairman of the training committee, Hendrato Setiabudi Nugroho, S.E., M.Si., explained that the main objective of this training was to equip participants with skills that are in accordance with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI).

“This comes from our concern. It turns out that many butchers have not carried out slaughter procedures in accordance with Sharia. This raises our sense of responsibility to literate and train their skills,” explained Hendrato.

He added that although this training has not reached the certification stage, it is hoped that the knowledge provided can be applied directly by the participants in the community. “Although we cannot reach certification, at least with this training we teach the knowledge for them to apply in the community later,” he continued.

The training was not only attended by UNISA students, but also involved local residents and representatives of Muhammadiyah branches throughout Yogyakarta, as well as collaborating with the Juleha Yogyakarta community which consists of certified butchers.

Ahmad Mutohar, one of the participants from Darussalam Kaliabu Kidul Mosque, Gamping, expressed his valuable experience. “In the past, I only saw, and when I was told to do it, I was not brave enough. Insha Allah, I have practiced slaughtering goats, and next year I will be brave enough to slaughter cows,” said Mutohar enthusiastically.

This training is expected to improve the quality of slaughtermen in Yogyakarta and ensure the consumption of halal meat for the community.

Successful in UI GreenMetric, UNISA Yogyakarta Welcomes UKDW to Share Green Campus Learnings and Innovations

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta is again in the spotlight of other academics. This time, Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW) Yogyakarta visited the ‘Aisyiyah campus on Thursday (23/5/2025) to conduct a comparative study. Located in the 7th floor meeting room of Siti Moendjijah Building, this meeting focused on discussing the UI GreenMetric ranking strategy.

Vice Rector I of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Sulistyaningsih, S.KM., MH.Kes, in her speech emphasized that UNISA’s vision is in line with UI GreenMetric’s criteria, which is to become a health-oriented campus.

“We direct every work program to achieve the indicators in this ranking. We learn by ourselves and incorporate the SDG’s program into the lecture curriculum and research,” said Sulis.

She added that all elements of the campus, from publications to other activities, also support the achievement of this ranking. “Hopefully this visit will become a sharing event for the progress of the nation,” she hoped.

Similarly, Vice Rector of UKDW, Dr. Parmonangan Manurung, S.T., M.T., IAI, conveyed the purpose of his team coming to UNISA Yogyakarta.

“We want to learn a lot about the UI GreenMetric ranking strategy that has brought UNISA Yogyakarta to 42nd place,” said Parmonangan.

During the discussion, UNISA Yogyakarta’s GreenMetric ranking team was also present to share experiences and insights with the UKDW delegation.

This visit proves UNISA Yogyakarta’s commitment to environmental sustainability and health, and inspires other universities to continue improving campus quality. UNISA continues to innovate for better education.

Antariksa 2025 Goes to School: Fight Online Gambling For a Golden Generation Forward

YOGYAKARTA – Communication Science students of ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta once again held an educational movement entitled Space 2025 Goes to School, with the main mission of saving the younger generation from the latent danger of online gambling. This program carries the theme “Stop Clicking Start Living”, as a form of concern for the increasingly widespread practice of digital gambling targeting school-age youth.

Antariksa (Ajang Kreativitas Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi UNISA) is a PR campaign from the output of the Public Relations Management course, Antariksa 2025 starts with a roadshow program to schools, campign on the road and a seminar as the peak event of Antariksa.

This educational program was held for three days, on 19-21 May 2025, and managed to reach 262 students from five schools in the Yogyakarta area, namely SMK N 1 Godean, MAN 1 Sleman, SMK N 2 Godean, SMA N 1 Sedayu, and SMK N 4 Yogyakarta.

Reza Al-Khifari, Chairman of Antariksa 2025, explained that this activity was born out of concern for the increasing cases of teenagers’ involvement in online gambling. “We want to be present directly in schools to educate our peers that online gambling is not a solution, but a trap that can ruin the future,” said Reza.

The activity began with remarks from the school, including Widiatmoko Herbimo, S.T., M.Pd., Vice Principal for Student Affairs at SMK N 4 Yogyakarta. In his message, he highlighted the consumptive lifestyle as an entry point to the practice of online gambling. “If you are already poor because of gambling, you can’t use your mind. In fact, life is all about thinking,” he said.

The educational material presented discussed in depth the serious impact of online gambling on mental health, finances, and academic performance. The students were also provided with preventive measures such as not accessing gambling sites, not being easily tempted by suspicious links, and building a healthy friendship environment. An interactive Q&A session provided a space for students to share their experiences and ask deeper questions on how to counteract the influence of online gambling. At the end of the event, all participants received a “Sweet Card”, a symbol of commitment to be part of the #AntiJudiOnline movement.

The positive response came from the students who showed high enthusiasm, and even helped spread the anti-online gambling message through posts on Instagram Story and other social media platforms.

Through Antariksa Goes to School, Communication Science of ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta emphasizes its commitment in forming a generation that is digitally smart, mentally tough, and free from the destructive practice of online gambling. This movement is not just a campaign, but a real form of alignment with the future of the nation.

Beyond The Borders: Raden Roro Nola Amalia ‘s Achievement at International Communication Conference

Her heart was beating faster than usual, her voice a low rumble of honest nervousness. Now, she was faced with dozens of unfamiliar faces from different countries displayed on her laptop screen. However, behind her nervousness was a fire of enthusiasm and a sense of pride that radiated from her face.

She is Raden Roro Nola Amalia Wijayanti or often called Nola, a student of the Communication Science Study Program at Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta, who won the 1st Winner Best Paper and 3rd Best Presenting in the 6th Jogjakarta Communication Conference (JCC) 2025.

Together with two colleagues, Abdul Khalim Mubaroq and Sarere Safitri, Nola represented UNISA in an international scientific forum that was held in a hybrid manner, and was attended by various universities within the scope of PTMA (Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Universities) from within the country and abroad.

“I have mixed feelings, between nervousness and enthusiasm. The JCC seminar is a very prestigious international event. But the strongest feeling is gratitude for being able to share research results with such a diverse audience,” said Nola, Monday (5/5/2025).

In her presentation, Nola discussed the image of Muhammadiyah in the issue of accepting mining concessions on social media. Her research highlighted how narratives and public opinion are formed in the digital realm, when one of the largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia is involved in natural resource issues.

Media analysis combined with the sensitivity of religious imagery, made Nola’s presentation very relevant, critical and sharp, so that it was able to attract the attention of the participants as well as the examiners.

“In my opinion, the most proud thing is to be able to bring the good name of Muhammadiyah in the international academic realm. I feel that this small contribution is part of the big narrative of Muhammadiyah’s intellectual da’wah,” she said.

JCC itself is an academic forum that is held annually. This conference is a competitive space for students, lecturers, and researchers from various parts of the world to voice their thoughts.

Nola and her team’s achievements are proof that the academic quality of UNISA Yogyakarta students is worthy of international recognition.

“This award is proof for me that the younger generation can play an active role in formulating and voicing ideas that have an impact,” Nola concluded, with a warm smile and undimmed enthusiasm.
