The work exhibition event entitled Gala Aksi Karya Mahasiswa Komunikasi (GALAKSI) VOL 3 with the theme DIMENSI. Student Expression Diorama is the closing in a series of Final Semester Examinations (UAS). In this activity, several courses displayed the results of UAS assignments, such as photography, magazines, copywriting to the launching of digital magazines and screening of short films by students held at IFI – LIP Yogyakarta (29/01).

The photography exhibition with the theme “Women in the Lens” successfully captured moments with implied messages conveyed and magazine exhibitions and copywriting with their expertise in stringing words that create persuasive and creative messages. As well as the work of short films that have deep messages and amazing visuals by communication science students.

The Chairperson of the Communication Science Study Program at Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta said that GALAKSI is an appreciation event for the work produced by students. The activity is carried out annually and is expected to be a forum for unlimited student creativity, his words mentioned in the GALAKSI speech.

The activity with works exhibited from several courses taking environmental issues and also mental health managed to get enthusiasm not only from internal but even to external ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta.

Not only photography, magazine, copywriting and film exhibitions. UNISA Yogyakarta Communication Science students also held a Talkshow – Launching Digital Magazine which was directly commented by a guest lecturer from Amikom University Yogyakarta, Andreas Tri Pamungkas.

Yogyakarta, 31 January 2024 – The Information Technology Study Program (PSTI) of Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta and Muhammadiyah Magelang University (UNIMMA) further demonstrated their spirit of collaboration in the world of information technology through the exhibition of their latest project. Students from UNISA’s Information Technology Study Program (PSTI) and UNIMMA’s Informatics Engineering (IT) collaborated to develop a Nutrition Poly Information System at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.

The exhibition is part of the final project of the Hospital Information System course, which allows students to apply their knowledge and skills in the real world. The focus of the project was to help improve the efficiency and quality of services in the Nutrition Clinic, which has an important role in providing holistic health services to patients.

During the information system exhibition, the students explained the details of the project implementation, the challenges faced, and the positive impact expected to be achieved at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. They also had the opportunity to get direct feedback from nutrition lecturers, information technology lecturers, and healthcare practitioners.

Zahra Arwananing Tyas, S.Kom., M.Cs., as the head of the Information Technology study program explained that with this project, students not only gain valuable practical experience, but also make a real contribution to the development of information technology in the health sector. This cross-campus collaboration is an inspiring example of how students can come together to create innovative solutions that benefit the community.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, visited Walidah Dahlan Mosque of Universitas Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The visit was welcomed by the leadership and Board of Trustees (BPH) of UNISA Yogyakarta as well as the Chairperson of the Central Leadership ofAisyiyah.

The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat said that the Walidah Dahlan Mosque has a total area of 14,354 m2, located in the strategic area of the integrated campus of UNISA Yogyakarta, becoming a new icon for the university founded by the largest women’s organization in the world, Aisyiyah. This mosque is expected to radiate women’s knowledge through the da’wah movement in all lines that can be reached through the mosque. Its existence is very important for more than 7,200 UNISA students in the 2023-2024 academic year and more than 350 employees, including lecturers and education staff, and for the wider community.

In the near future, the mosque will be comprehensively utilized during Ramadan 1445 H this year with various activity programs through its five pillars of worship, education, da’wah, women’s empowerment and community empowerment.

During the visit, President Joko Widodo and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono saw firsthand the strategic role of Walidah Dahlan Mosque as the center of Islamic activities on campus. This mosque not only functions as a place of worship, but also as a center of activities related to the practice of Islam, a vehicle for character education, and the implementation of Islamic life for all UNISA campus residents.

President Joko Widodo appreciated the Walidah Dahlah mosque which is very spacious and the building is sturdy and beautiful, besides that the President also praised UNISA Yogyakarta.

“The campus is led by women, and it turns out that women are more alert in facing any challenges,” said Joko Widodo.

President Joko Widodo also hopes that the strategic role of Walidah Dahlan Mosque in supporting character education and Islamic life in the university environment in order to support the golden Indonesia 2045.

This visit is also expected to provide a positive impetus for the development of educational institutions that are committed to religious and scientific values. The existence of this mosque also attracts the attention of the general public, because its location is very easy to reach.

It is hoped that this mosque can become a center of activity for the entire academic community and the general public, creating an inclusive environment that promotes Islamic values and diversity.

The D4 Medical Laboratory Technology (TLM) Study Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta held an expert lecture on Medical Laboratory Technology in the field of clinical chemistry: Enzym and Metabolism Body Expert Lecture 2024. This event was held offline at the Baroroh Barried Hall, 4th floor of Siti Walidah Building, UNISA Yogyakarta, on Saturday (27/01).

Anggi Saputro, A.Md.AK supervisor and laboratory practitioner at Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, was specially presented as the main speaker with the theme “The Role of ATLM in Diagnosing Heart Disease”. The event was hosted by Moderator Dyah Ayu Nuraini, 3rd semester TLM student class of 2022.

In her speech, Arifiani Agustin Amalia, S.AK., M.Kes, the coordinator in charge of the Enzymes and Body Metabolism course, expressed her appreciation for the presence of Mr. Anggi Saputro, A.Md.AK. He also officially opened the 2024 Enzymes and Body Metabolism expert lecture.

Laboratory Examination as a Diagnosis of Heart Disease was reviewed by Mr. Anggi Saputro, A.Md.AK comprehensively from the perspective of laboratory practitioners in hospitals, so that students understand a different point of view from the practicum that is done during lectures on campus. The material presented includes supporting examinations for cardiovascular disease, the flow of laboratory examinations, quality stabilization and crucial things that must be considered and interpretation of the results. In addition, the expert lecture this time also became a space for discussion between students and presenters regarding matters of examination services in hospital laboratories.

The enthusiasm of the students was very visible, as evidenced by the many questions asked. Mr. Anggi Saputro, A.Md.AK dedicatedly answered all questions, ensuring optimal understanding for the participants.

This expert lecture on heart disease diagnosis is a clear proof of the commitment of UNISA Yogyakarta’s TLM study program in advancing health science and providing in-depth understanding to students. Focusing on the science of clinical chemistry, especially in the diagnosis of heart disease, this event creates a generation of medical laboratory personnel who are competent in the field of clinical chemistry.

The 2024 Enzyme and Body Metabolism Expert Lecture at UNISA Yogyakarta was not only a learning event but also a place to inspire and motivate the 111 students who attended offline in developing expertise in the field of medical laboratories. Hopefully, events like this will continue to be held to produce a generation of superior and competitive medical laboratory technology.

The Student Information and Counseling Center (PIK-M) Mahkota Puri Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta held an inspirational talk show with the theme “Becoming a Resilience Student and Caring for Mental Health for Yourself and Others”. The event, which took place at the Walidah Dahlan Mosque of UNISA, attracted the attention of 1500 students from various study programs.

Sherly Annavita Rahmi, a leading influencer, was invited as a guest speaker to share her experiences and insights related to mental resilience and mental health care. The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, in her speech stated that in the era of digital and fast information, students are faced with demands that are not light.

“With this Talkshow, we hope students can overcome these challenges more relaxed and unburdened. Sherly’s presence as a resource person is expected to provide motivation and enlightenment to students,” said Warsiti.

Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Mufdlilah, S.SiT., M.Sc, gave the Keynote Speech which underlined the concerns over mental health issues today. She emphasized that mental health should be the main focus in every student activity. Prof. Mufdlilah also highlighted the role of faculty in dealing with students with mental health challenges.

“The current challenge for us as teachers is to deal with students with mental health. The hope of this talk show is that students can share their experiences, feel comfortable, and talk openly, with our resource person, Sherly Annavita Rahmi,” said Prof. Mufdlilah.

This talk show on mental health care is not only a place to listen to inspirational stories, but also provides a space for students to share experiences, feel comfortable, and engage in open discussions. By involving 1500 students from all study programs, this event is expected to have a positive impact on the awareness and mental well-being of UNISA Yogyakarta students.
