The Student Executive Board (BEM-KM) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta once again showed its concern for the environment. In a series of Unisa Green Day’s events, BEM-KM successfully established a strong collaboration with the Sleman Regency Environmental Agency (DLH). This collaboration was marked by the provision of 30 plant seeds of various types that will beautify the campus and support environmental conservation efforts, Wednesday (14/08).
During the visit to Sleman Environmental Agency Annisa Ul Mardhiyah, Minister of Social and Community of BEM-KM UNISA Yogyakarta, revealed that the enthusiasm of the academic community towards Unisa Green Day’s is very high. In addition to collecting and managing paper and plastic waste, the event was also filled with tree planting activities.
“Unisa Green Day’s is a concrete proof of our commitment to realize UNISA as a green campus,” said Annisa.
Esa Jongko Budi Angkoso, UNISA Student President, added that this activity is the first step in UNISA’s ongoing efforts to create a more friendly and sustainable campus environment.
“We hope that collaboration with DLH Sleman can continue and inspire other campuses to participate in protecting the environment,” said Esa.
The Head of Environmental Control Division of DLH Sleman, Mrs. Eni Yuliani, positively welcomed the initiative of BEM-KM UNISA.
“Students as the young generation have an important role in protecting the environment. We really appreciate their enthusiasm to contribute,” said Eni.
