Lsp Unisa 1 1030x773

Universitas `Aisyiyah (Unisa) Yogyakarta is one step closer to establishing a Professional Certification Agency (LSP). A full assessment process from the National Board for Professional Certification (BNSP) was conducted at Baroroh Baried Hall on Friday (17/1/2025). This assessment is a crucial stage for Unisa to obtain an official license as an LSP.

BNSP assigned Prasetyo as an assessor in charge of carrying out the assessment and assessment of competency tests objectively at Unisa Yogyakarta. The presence of this BNSP assessor marks a strong commitment from Unisa to improve the quality of its graduates through nationally recognized competency certification.

Vice Rector IV of Unisa Yogyakarta, M. Ali Imron, M.Fis, in his speech emphasized the importance of certification as proof of one’s competence in carrying out his profession. “Certification is important evidence that a person is competent and worthy of working in their professional field. We hope that this assessment process will run smoothly and Unisa can achieve recommendations for the establishment of LSP with the four schemes that have been submitted. Thus, we can develop more certification schemes in the future,” said Imron.

The submission of these four certification schemes shows Unisa’s seriousness in preparing graduates who are ready to work and highly competitive. The establishment of the LSP on campus is expected to facilitate UNISA students and graduates to obtain competency certification relevant to their scientific fields.

Prasetyo, an assessor from BNSP, explained that his job is to assist BNSP in granting licenses to institutions that propose the establishment of LSPs. “The establishment of this certification body will greatly help prepare graduates who are work-ready and competent. With competency certification, graduates not only have a diploma, but also proof of recognition of their abilities. This will increase the confidence of the industry or companies that will hire them,” Prasetyo said.

The full assessment process from BNSP is an important milestone for UNISA Yogyakarta in realizing its vision as a university that produces excellent and competitive graduates. Hopefully, the establishment of the LSP at UNISA can be realized soon and provide great benefits for the entire academic community and the wider community.

Physio Smart

The Physiotherapy Study Program at ‘Aisyiyah University (Unisa) Yogyakarta has just completed an internship program that has a significant impact on the community at the Sanden Health Center, Bantul. The five-week internship program involved 7th semester students and focused on community empowerment through innovative physiotherapy approaches. The withdrawal of internship students was held on Friday, January 10, 2025, marking the success of the collaboration between Unisa Yogyakarta, Sanden Health Center, and the surrounding community.

SMART Physio: Physiotherapy-Based Community Empowerment Innovation

This internship program gave birth to an innovative branding called Fisio SMART (Physiotherapy Through Community Empowerment Strategy). This branding represents the strong commitment of Unisa Yogyakarta students and educators in improving community health through sustainable collaboration and empowerment. Fisio SMART emphasizes the importance of the community’s active role in maintaining their health and quality of life.

During their internship, Unisa Physiotherapy students worked closely with various parties, including cadres of stroke monitors from the community, doctors, and physiotherapists from Sanden Health Center. This cross-sector collaboration is key to the success of the program. The main focus of the program is the monitoring and treatment of common health conditions in the community, such as stroke, diabetes, and hypertension. In addition, students are also actively involved in community empowerment activities, with the main targets being the elderly and children with disabilities.

This internship received direct guidance from two professional physiotherapists from Sanden Health Center, Novika Kurniawati and Maryati. Their presence and guidance ensured that the activities were run according to professional standards and provided optimal benefits to the community. The collaborative approach has proven effective in creating a positive impact on the health and well-being of the Sanden community.

Bani, one of the student interns, said that this experience provided valuable learning. They not only learned technically about physiotherapy, but also understood the importance of community empowerment in the context of the physiotherapy community.

“We learned how to actively involve the community in maintaining and improving the quality of their health,” he said.

The Head of the Physiotherapy Study Program at Unisa Yogyakarta, Hilmi Zadah Faidullah, S.St., M.Si., expressed his hope that this internship program could be an inspiration and model for other regions.

“We hope that the Unisa Physiotherapy Study Program can continue to contribute to improving health and community empowerment, not only in Sanden, but also throughout the province of Yogyakarta Special Region,” said Hilmi.

The end of this internship program is expected to be the beginning of the implementation of the SMART Physio model in various regions. This model is expected to strengthen the synergy between physiotherapy and community empowerment, creating a healthier and more independent society. This program proves that collaboration between educational institutions, health facilities, and communities can produce a significant positive impact on mutual health and well-being.

Public Relations

Founder & CEO of Indonesian Public Relations, Asmono Wikan, said that the role of public relations in educational institutions, such as universities, is an important part. Public Relations is a long-term investment that can be felt in the future.

Asmono Wikan assessed that the role of public relations as a communicator in an organization can be seen in the long term. He said that currently there may still be many who think the role of public relations is less visible.

“It is said that they only work during a crisis, not really. In fact, before the crisis, they also found methods to build a strong fortress,” said Asmono Wikan, during an audience at Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (Unisa) Yogyakarta, Thursday (16/1/2025).

The man who is also the Founder of MAW Talk said that his party is trying to synergize with universities to strengthen the role of public relations. “We also open the possibility of collaboration, with Unisa Yogyakarta, with Muhammadiyah, and the education system,” said Asmono Wikan.

Vice Rector IV for Cooperation and International Affairs of Unisa Yogyakarta, Moh. Ali Imron, S.Sos., M.Fis., shared the same view, that the role of public relations is very important. He also said that the role of public relations is not felt instantly. “Public relations is very important. The impact is not instantaneous,” said Imron.

Imron also assessed that currently there may still be those who see public relations not as an investment. This view should be changed, and see the role of public relations as an investment.

He gave an example that the campus has various facilities, technology, good laboratories, but when there is no role of public relations to brand well to the outside, it becomes less. “It’s not meaningful if public relations can’t introduce it all,” said Imron.

Imron also welcomed the cooperation opportunity initiated by MAW Talk, Public Relations Indonesia. He hopes that the good practices that have been implemented at Unisa Yogyakarta will also become an example.
