YOGYAKARTA – Communication Science students of ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta once again held an educational movement entitled Space 2025 Goes to School, with the main mission of saving the younger generation from the latent danger of online gambling. This program carries the theme “Stop Clicking Start Living”, as a form of concern for the increasingly widespread practice of digital gambling targeting school-age youth.

Antariksa (Ajang Kreativitas Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi UNISA) is a PR campaign from the output of the Public Relations Management course, Antariksa 2025 starts with a roadshow program to schools, campign on the road and a seminar as the peak event of Antariksa.

This educational program was held for three days, on 19-21 May 2025, and managed to reach 262 students from five schools in the Yogyakarta area, namely SMK N 1 Godean, MAN 1 Sleman, SMK N 2 Godean, SMA N 1 Sedayu, and SMK N 4 Yogyakarta.

Reza Al-Khifari, Chairman of Antariksa 2025, explained that this activity was born out of concern for the increasing cases of teenagers’ involvement in online gambling. “We want to be present directly in schools to educate our peers that online gambling is not a solution, but a trap that can ruin the future,” said Reza.

The activity began with remarks from the school, including Widiatmoko Herbimo, S.T., M.Pd., Vice Principal for Student Affairs at SMK N 4 Yogyakarta. In his message, he highlighted the consumptive lifestyle as an entry point to the practice of online gambling. “If you are already poor because of gambling, you can’t use your mind. In fact, life is all about thinking,” he said.

The educational material presented discussed in depth the serious impact of online gambling on mental health, finances, and academic performance. The students were also provided with preventive measures such as not accessing gambling sites, not being easily tempted by suspicious links, and building a healthy friendship environment. An interactive Q&A session provided a space for students to share their experiences and ask deeper questions on how to counteract the influence of online gambling. At the end of the event, all participants received a “Sweet Card”, a symbol of commitment to be part of the #AntiJudiOnline movement.

The positive response came from the students who showed high enthusiasm, and even helped spread the anti-online gambling message through posts on Instagram Story and other social media platforms.

Through Antariksa Goes to School, Communication Science of ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta emphasizes its commitment in forming a generation that is digitally smart, mentally tough, and free from the destructive practice of online gambling. This movement is not just a campaign, but a real form of alignment with the future of the nation.

Her heart was beating faster than usual, her voice a low rumble of honest nervousness. Now, she was faced with dozens of unfamiliar faces from different countries displayed on her laptop screen. However, behind her nervousness was a fire of enthusiasm and a sense of pride that radiated from her face.

She is Raden Roro Nola Amalia Wijayanti or often called Nola, a student of the Communication Science Study Program at Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta, who won the 1st Winner Best Paper and 3rd Best Presenting in the 6th Jogjakarta Communication Conference (JCC) 2025.

Together with two colleagues, Abdul Khalim Mubaroq and Sarere Safitri, Nola represented UNISA in an international scientific forum that was held in a hybrid manner, and was attended by various universities within the scope of PTMA (Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Universities) from within the country and abroad.

“I have mixed feelings, between nervousness and enthusiasm. The JCC seminar is a very prestigious international event. But the strongest feeling is gratitude for being able to share research results with such a diverse audience,” said Nola, Monday (5/5/2025).

In her presentation, Nola discussed the image of Muhammadiyah in the issue of accepting mining concessions on social media. Her research highlighted how narratives and public opinion are formed in the digital realm, when one of the largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia is involved in natural resource issues.

Media analysis combined with the sensitivity of religious imagery, made Nola’s presentation very relevant, critical and sharp, so that it was able to attract the attention of the participants as well as the examiners.

“In my opinion, the most proud thing is to be able to bring the good name of Muhammadiyah in the international academic realm. I feel that this small contribution is part of the big narrative of Muhammadiyah’s intellectual da’wah,” she said.

JCC itself is an academic forum that is held annually. This conference is a competitive space for students, lecturers, and researchers from various parts of the world to voice their thoughts.

Nola and her team’s achievements are proof that the academic quality of UNISA Yogyakarta students is worthy of international recognition.

“This award is proof for me that the younger generation can play an active role in formulating and voicing ideas that have an impact,” Nola concluded, with a warm smile and undimmed enthusiasm.

The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) and the Central Leadership (PP) of Aisyiyah signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for village development, at Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta, Tuesday (20/5/2025). This synergy is expected to alleviate underdeveloped villages.

The Minister of Villages, Yandri Susanto, S.Pt., M.Pd said that currently there are still 3,000 more villages without electricity, 20,000 villages without internet networks and around 10,000 underdeveloped villages.

Yandri said there are several factors that make villages still lagging behind, including Human Resources and the fulfillment of basic needs of life ranging from schools, health, transportation and others.

“Well, if we touch, take care of health, education, infrastructure, and others, I think they will be able to compete with other villages. Yes, definitely (cooperation with PP Aisyiyah to advance the village). Even though the village is already advanced, we need to improve it again,” said Yandri.

Yandri said that if you want to achieve the Golden Indonesia of 2045, the key is in the village, because 73 percent of the population is in the village. According to him, if village development is neglected, achieving a Golden Indonesia will be difficult.

In addition, a number of villages also have other advantages that can be developed, such as villages that have export potential, tourist villages, and others. Development will also be carried out in terms of human resources by strengthening education, both formal and spiritual education of the community.

Chairperson of the Central Leadership (PP) ‘Aisyiyah, Dr. Apt. Salmah Orbayinah, M.Kes said Aisyiyah is very concerned about village development, just as the current government is also concerned with village development. “We realize from the village to get quality people, quality apparatus,” said Salmah.

It is hoped that the presence of Aisyiyah and the Ministry of PDT can build a better country, more progressive, can build a better civilization that enlightens. To build it must target the lowest level.

Salmah said that although Aisyiyah is known as a religious organization, it also preaches in all aspects. There is da’wah in the fields of education, health, economy, politics, and so on. She cited Yogyakarta’s Aisyiyah University (UNISA) as a form of da’wah in the field of education. It is also expected to be able to contribute to the village level.

Salmah also said Aisyiyah would support in other fields, such as health, community economic empowerment, food security, strengthening human resources including encouraging the involvement of women and so on.

The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep, Sp.Mat. also welcomed the cooperation between the Ministry of PDT and PP Aisyiyah. UNISA Yogyakarta is also ready to support the programs that will be run later. “We support the da’wah that Aisyiyah does,” said Warsiti.

Head of Jatirejo Village, Lendah, Kulon Progo, Novi Bayu Widiasmara said that as one of the target villages of this cooperation program, Jatirejo has an advantage in agriculture that is ready to be developed. “Regarding what program we want to run with Aisyiyah, what is clear is that we cannot be separated from food security, because the basics support it,” he said.

Behind the blencong lights, there is a soft but firm voice that brings the puppet characters to life in a universe of shadows. Who would have thought that the figure behind that voice was not a graying old maestro, but a bright young man whose life crosses worlds, technologies and traditions.

He is Restu Agil (22), a student of the Information Technology (IT) Study Program at ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta. Since two years ago, he has been part of Pamulangan Dhalang Habirandhas stood for Hamurwani Biwara Rancangan Dhalang, a candradimuka for aspiring young puppeteers under the auspices of the Yogyakarta Palace.

“Although the title ‘dhalang’ is not mine to decide, my journey and process in the world of puppetry really began when I joined Pamulangan Dhalang Habirandha,” Agil said on Tuesday (22/4/2025).

When night falls and the curtain rises, he becomes the spirit of the epic tales of Mahabharata, Ramayana and local stories full of advice. His voice swings from the trill of Arjuna to the thunder of Werkudara. However, when dawn arrives and the screen is lowered, he returns to being an IT student who analyzes systems, writes code and compiles algorithms.

Agil’s uniqueness does not stop there, in college, he is known as a student who has a myriad of achievements both in the academic and non-academic fields. He was listed as the first graduate of the 2021 batch of Information Technology students who were graduated last April.

“In the academic field, I managed to take my undergraduate education for only 3.5 years with a GPA of 3.91 (with honors). In the non-academic field, I managed to win various competitions in the field of Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ),” he said.

His figure is clear evidence that the younger generation is able to bridge local values with the progress of the times without losing their cultural roots. Through his footsteps, he emphasized that being a student is not just about achieving high grades, but also shaping character and giving more meaning to society.

“For me, being a dhalang is not just about performance, but also about instilling values, strengthening identity, and building connections between the younger generation and ancestral culture. This is the small contribution I can make as a young person to Indonesian culture,” he concluded.

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta held a midwife profession oath ceremony on Thursday (15/5) at the Convention Hall of Masjid Walidah Dahlan UNISA Yogyakarta. A total of 134 graduates of the Midwifery Professional Study Program were officially inaugurated and took professional oaths as professional midwives.

The education report was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Dewi Rokhanawati, MPH, who reported that 98.5% of graduates achieved the title of With Praise and the achievement of passing the National Competency Test (UKOMNAS) reached 100%. “This graduation is not the end point, but the beginning of real service in the community,” she said.

The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, M.Kep., Sp.Mat., in her speech expressed her appreciation and hopes for the graduates. She emphasized that the midwifery profession is not only a technical job, but also a calling to serve with the heart, bring justice, and accompany life from the beginning. “Aisyiyah midwives are the vanguard who must be present in the community, bridging those who have not spoken out so that their health rights are fulfilled,” she said.

Dr. Warsiti also reminded the challenges still faced by midwifery, especially in reducing maternal mortality rates (MMR) and infant mortality rates (IMR), which still have not reached the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target. Therefore, the role of Aisyiyah midwives as the frontline in community health services is very strategic.

She invited all graduates to maintain the spirit of learning, uphold professional ethics, and become UNISA ambassadors who carry Islamic, empathic, and professional values wherever they serve. “Aisyiyah midwives not only have medical skills, but also integrity, morals, and sincerity in service,” she concluded.

Also attending the event were the Chairperson of the Yogyakarta IBI Regional Board, UNISA leadership, lecturers, clinical preceptors, and parents and guardians of graduates. UNISA Yogyakarta also opens opportunities for further study in the Midwifery Master Program and prepares international career paths for graduates through the U-ACE program. On this occasion, UNISA Yogyakarta awarded scholarships to 2 midwifery graduates to continue their studies in the Master of Midwifery Program at UNISA Yogyakarta.

This activity is part of UNISA Yogyakarta’s commitment to produce female health workers who are superior, Islamic, and ready to become agents of change for the community.
