Deputy Head of Sleman Expects UNISA Yogyakarta to Play a Role in Creating Excellent Human Resources
Sleman Deputy Regent Danang Maharsa encouraged synergy between universities, industry, and government, when attending the Stakeholder Gathering of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (Unisa) Yogyakarta, at the Convention Hall of Walidah Dahlan Mosque Unisa Yogyakarta, Friday (11/7/2025). It is hoped that with the synergy that is built, it can produce superior human resources and can support poverty alleviation.
“Education is one of the efforts to break the chain of poverty and the main key in creating a better future. Quality human resources are an important foundation in building a prosperous and empowered society,” said Danang, who is also the Head of the Sleman Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPK).
Danang invited all stakeholders, including educational institutions, the business world and the community, to synergize and support this effort. The Sleman Regency Government itself has also provided scholarships for several years to Sleman residents, to be able to get an education up to higher education, including at Unisa Yogyakarta.
Danang said the Sleman Regency Government is committed to improving educational facilities and infrastructure and guaranteeing education for children in Sleman. In order to create quality human resources, Sleman Regency Government came up with the innovation of Pratu Kemis Sarjana (One Family One Bachelor Program) to provide the widest possible opportunity for Sleman children, especially from underprivileged families, so that they are not hindered in achieving higher education.
“The Pratu Kemis Sarjana program is one of Sleman’s superior strategies in poverty reduction which consists of the Sleman Pintar Scholarship, Sleman Pintar Plus Plus, Kersaku Sembada, JPS Student Education, and Campus Scholarship Support,” Danang explained.
Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta, Warsiti said that Unisa Yogyakarta has a commitment to build ecosystems, human resources, students who have room to grow and develop to advance national development.
“Nation building from human resources, innovation and of course social welfare cannot be done by universities alone. We will not become an ivory tower, part of our goal of holding this gathering activity will jointly build a solid building,” said Warsiti.
Warsiti hopes that the presence of Unisa Yogyakarta will benefit the wider community. In addition, Unisa Yogyakarta asks for support and hopes for collaboration with the industrial world, in order to prepare graduates who are competent and have characters according to the needs of the times.
Vice Rector IV for Cooperation and International Affairs, Ali Imron added that Unisa Yogyakarta on its journey continues to make various achievements. He also wants cooperation to be established with various industries.
On this occasion, awards were also given to a number of Unisa Yogyakarta partners, who have been collaborating with the campus.
