Haedar Nashir to Receive Star Award from Indonesian Legion of Veterans

Prof. Dr. Haedar Nashir, M.Si, Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, will receive the Bintang award of the Legion of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI) on Thursday, July 10 in Jakarta. This award is based on the Decree of the General Chairman of DPP LVRI Number: SKEP-41/MBLV/XII/05/2025 dated May 28, 2025.

The LVRI Star is the highest and strategic award from LVRI. It is given to influential individuals or institutions that actively support veterans and instill the spirit of state defense. Recipients range from state officials, bureaucrats, to local figures, all of whom are determined through LVRI’s internal selection.

Some national figures who previously received similar awards include President Prabowo Subianto, General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, and Governor of Riau Islands Ansar Ahmad. This shows how prestigious the award that Haedar Nashir will receive is.

Haedar Nashir is widely known as an intellectual figure who not only fosters progressive Islamic thought in Indonesia, but also has an intense national service that is recognized by many parties. In addition to leading Muhammadiyah, Haedar is also active as a lecturer, book author, and social thinker who crosses national boundaries.

He is known for his calm, inclusive, and solution-oriented attitude. He consistently strengthens Muhammadiyah’s role in education, health, social empowerment, and ideological resilience. In various forums, media, and national environments, Haedar always voices the importance of Pancasila, religion, and national culture as the foundation of national life.

His commitment to unity is very high, making him an adhesive figure for national integration. He often invites the leaders of the country to be an example of statesmanship, which becomes the people’s reference in the nation.

Previously, Haedar Nashir has bagged various prestigious awards, such as the Anugerah Hamengku Buwono IX Award 2024, Honorary Member of the Indonesian Sociology Association 2024, Lifetime Achievement Award from Hospital Management Asia Awards 2024, Anugerah Khas Tokoh Pendidikan Keusahawanan 2025 from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), and most recently named as an Islamic Book Figure in the Islamic Book Fair Award 2025.

This Professor of Sociology is also a prolific writer. He has published dozens of books, plus more than 500 writings in Suara Muhammadiyah (SM) Magazine, 300 reflection writings in Republika Daily, and prolific contributions in various other national media. A clear proof of his timeless work in the realm of science and nationality.
