Walidah Dahlan Mosque Dzuhur Study: About DNA and Human Cells
On the fourth day of the holy month of Ramadan, UNISA Yogyakarta ‘s Walidah Dahlan Mosque held an interesting dzuhur study on the topic of DNA and Human Cells. The study, which was attended by 308 worshipers, invited speaker Arif Bimantara, who also serves as Head of the Biotechnology Study Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, Thursday (14/03).
In his study, Arif explained in depth about the smallest constituent part of the human body, namely cells, as well as the genetic structure that is the core of the journey of human life, namely DNA.
“Cells are the basic unit of our life, but what is more surprising is the existence of the brain of cells, namely DNA, which plays a role in giving instructions to cells for activities that must be carried out,” Arif said.
Furthermore, Arif explained how important the role of DNA is in our daily lives. “DNA works all the time, it determines how our lives will run, it can even determine a person’s life,” he explained firmly. He also illustrated how important the function of DNA is in the function of human organs, such as the eyes, which depend on the instructions given by DNA.
“It is miraculous that despite being so small, DNA is arranged in such a way that it is not easily damaged and always works optimally. Even if damage occurs, Allah SWT has also equipped our cells with an extraordinary ‘service machine’,” he added.
The dzuhur study held at the Walidah Dahlan Mosque, UNISA Yogyakarta, was an important moment for the congregation to explore further the wonders of Allah’s creation in the human body. The spirit and enthusiasm of the congregation can be seen from the high participation in the study.
With the various understandings gained from this study, it is hoped that the congregation can further understand and appreciate the greatness of Allah SWT in His creation and deepen their knowledge of the human body, as contained in Islamic teachings..
