KKN UNISA Yogyakarta Successfully Instills PHBS To The Young Generation In Logandeng
In an effort to raise awareness of the importance of health from an early age, the Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta Community Service Program (KKN) group 19 successfully ran a Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) socialization program in Padukuhan Logandeng, Playen District, Gunungkidul Regency. The program, which targeted kindergarten and elementary school children, focused on two important habits: hand washing and tooth brushing.

Using a fun and interactive PHBS method, KKN students provide education on the correct hand washing technique in six steps. In addition, they also taught how to effectively brush teeth using fluoride toothpaste. To strengthen understanding, the KKN team used visual media such as colorful posters and interesting animated videos.
“The children were very enthusiastic about this activity,” said Frecsylia Meilan Putri Makangiras, one of the KKN members.
Frecsylia added “They not only gain knowledge, but also immediately practice what they have learned. We hope they can continue to apply this good habit in their daily lives.”
As a form of support for this program, the school provides clean and adequate hand washing facilities in the school environment. This is expected to facilitate children to always keep their hands clean.
