FIKES UNISA Yogyakarta Inaugurates Physiotherapy Profession For 7th Batch Alumni
Yogyakarta, Saturday (9/3) – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta held an oath and inauguration ceremony for the physiotherapy profession at the Convention Hall of Walidah Dahlan Mosque, UNISA Yogyakarta. This event was a historic moment for 158 alumni of the 7th batch of the Physiotherapy Study Program, who have successfully completed their education.
In the education report delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Moh Ali Imron, S.Sos., M.Fis, it was stated that the total alumni who had graduated from the Physiotherapy Study Program reached 1152 people. Of these, most have successfully developed their careers in various ways, including independent practice, working in hospitals, sports clubs, becoming lecturers, as well as various other professions such as mobile physiotherapy.
According to the data presented, 10% of UNISA Physiotherapy alumni have started independent practices, while 25% work in hospitals. A total of 5% of alumni have also successfully pursued careers in sports clubs, while another 2% chose the path of becoming a lecturer. Meanwhile, some alumni also chose other professions that are no less important, such as becoming physiotherapy car practitioners.
“The data shows that UNISA’s Physiotherapy Program has succeeded in creating a generation that is able to work independently and contribute significantly to the world of health,” said Moh Ali Imron.
In addition, the Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat also expressed her appreciation for the dedication and contribution of UNISA Physiotherapy graduates. According to her, UNISA’s core values, namely Akhlaq Mulia, Amanah, Profesional, Collaborative, and Unggul become a strong foundation for graduates as they serve in the community.
“UNISA physiotherapy graduates have dominated in several major hospitals in Indonesia. We would also like to thank the hospital partners who have assisted the physiotherapy students in improving their skills during their education at UNISA Yogyakarta. We would also like to thank the parents and guardians for their trust in sending their children to this campus,” said Dr. Warsiti.
Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Physiotherapy Association (IFI), Parmono Dwi Putro, S.Ft., MM conveyed the spirit of Al Maun in the professional oath. Parmono explained that it would be wretched if (1) negligent, not heeding the procedures, provisions and regulations in practicing. (2) riya, be a physiotherapist who does charity sincerely not riya’ (3) the existence of physiotherapy is beneficial to others and the wider community.
The physiotherapy profession inauguration event is not only a moment to celebrate the success of the graduates, but also to appreciate their efforts and hard work and inspire the younger generation to follow in their footsteps in building a career in the health sector.
