Launching SEGARA, Unisa Yogyakarta Supports Public Health Improvement
‘Aisyiyah University (Unisa) Yogyakarta together with the Central Leadership of ‘Aisyiyah is committed to providing support to improve public health. One manifestation of this support is the launching of ‘Aisyiyah’s Gymnastics for Fitness (SEGARA), at Unisa Yogyakarta Integrated Campus, Saturday (11/1/2025).
Chairperson of the Central Leadership of ‘Aisyiyah, Dr. apt. Salmah Orbayinah, M.Kes., Apt. said that the launching of Senam Bugar ‘Aisyiyah (SEGARA) cannot be separated from the teachings of Islam which recommends that physical, mental, and spiritual balance. “In this case, if all three are healthy, plus one more social, InsyaAllah, Aisyiyah leaders can carry out activities with agility, with pleasure, with good,” said Salmah.
SEGARA is also in line with the government program, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education’s program that launched children’s gymnastics and the seven habits of Indonesian children. “Well Aisyiyah is very supportive of course,” she said.
Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat. said the launching of SEGARA also coincides with Unisa Yogyakarta’s Sport and Art Every Week (SAE) program which combines the spirit of sports, art, and harmony. SAE activities are routinely held every two weeks.
“This activity is not only a place to maintain physical health, but also a space to strengthen internal communication, strengthen the sense of kinship, and strengthen togetherness among us,” said Warsiti.
In line with this spirit, this event also launched the K3 (Occupational Safety and Health) Month, as a form of Unisa Yogyakarta’s commitment to creating a healthy, safe, and productive work environment. Some of the K3 month activities include poster competitions, videography, writing K3 campaigns, competitions to bring healthy lunch menus, launching K3 gymnastics and health checks.
On this occasion, Unisa Yogyakarta’s new sports facility was launched, namely the sports center which is designed to support the physical activity and fitness needs of the academic community. To enliven this event, Unisa Yogyakarta also presents various activities such as physiotherapy health checks and free doctor consultations, blood donations, and breakfast together.
“We hope that this initiative can strengthen collaboration and create a more positive working atmosphere on our beloved campus. Hopefully this program will be a good first step in maintaining the balance between our physical, mental, and social as individuals who contribute to the progress of Unisa Yogyakarta. I also invite all academicians to participate in this program with enthusiasm, because we believe that team harmony will bring greater success,” said Warsiti.
