The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) of Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta continues to be committed to improving international cooperation as well as the quality of education and graduates. One of the concrete steps taken is through a comparative study of the Nutrition study program to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, which took place on January 3 to 6, 2024.

In his statement, Ali Imron, M.Fis, as Dean of FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta, said that efforts to improve the quality of education in the health sector, especially the Nutrition study program, are part of the university’s vision to become a quality education provider and make a positive contribution to society.

“UNISA Yogyakarta’s Nutrition Study Program is a major source of support for people who need educational services in the health sector. We believe that by conducting a comparative study, we can gain new insights and experiences to continuously improve the quality of our education and contribution,” said Imron.

The main purpose of this comparative study, according to the Head of the Nutrition Study Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, Agung Nugroho, A.MG., MPH, is to learn more about the establishment of a nutrition study and consultation center and the management of education, especially in terms of curriculum. In addition, UNISA Yogyakarta hopes to understand the standard of laboratory equipment used at UiTM.

“By learning from UiTM’s experience, we hope to implement best practices at UNISA, especially in lecturer capacity building, international journal writing, research collaboration, and student exchange,” Agung added.

During the visit to UiTM, not only comparative study activities were held, but also the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between UNISA Yogyakarta and UiTM Malaysia. This is the first step to strengthen cooperation in various fields, including knowledge exchange, curriculum development, and implementation of joint research activities.

With this collaboration, it is expected that UNISA Yogyakarta can continue to contribute positively in the field of health through the implementation of quality education that is relevant to the development of science and the needs of society.
