Students from 8 UNISA Yogyakarta Study Programs Visit Gunungkidul, Bringing Anti-Stunting Recipes
It’s not just theory; students from Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta have come down from the mountains to prove the real impact on the community. Through the UNISA Yogyakarta Student Executive Board (BEM KM), they came to Kalurahan Logandeng, Gunungkidul Regency, with the SILEMPENG idea on Thursday (09/10/2025).
This marks the initial phase of implementing the BEM Berdampak 2025 program, designed as a multidisciplinary service initiative grounded in research, appropriate technology, and sustainable empowerment.
This program is the result of collaboration among students from eight different academic programs. From Biotechnology, Nutrition, Midwifery, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Management, Architecture, to Public Administration, all have united to apply their knowledge to enhance the economic, social, and health capacities of Logandeng residents.
So, what did they bring? BEM KM UNISA Yogyakarta showcased leading innovations that are ready to be implemented. One of the most eye-catching was RevoPond. This is an advanced water-saving aquaponics system that integrates catfish farming and protein-rich aquatic plants.
Additionally, they also brought high-nutrient local food solutions to prevent stunting: the development of baby porridge made from moringa leaf flour and catfish. Beyond that, the community was also provided with training on Good Aquaculture Practices (GAP) and training in the production of self-made feed using maggots.
Lukmannul Hakim, President of the UNISA Yogyakarta Student Executive Board, explained that SILEMPENG is the philosophy of the UNISA student movement to build harmony between institutions, communities, and village governments.
“I hope that through the Impactful BEM agenda, the benefits can be felt directly by the community, especially in Logandeng,” said Lukman optimistically.
