8 ptma unggul

Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA) have long been recognized as educational institutions that have significant contributions in scientific and social development. In its efforts to maintain the quality of higher education, the Higher Education Research and Development Council (Diktilitbang) of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (PP) emphasizes the importance of a balance between increasing the number of universities and controlling the quality of education.

Reporting the results of the report from the official BAN-PT website and PTMA universities, Wednesday, (17/1/2024) eight Muhammadiyah `Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA) achieved Superior accreditation. This achievement is clear evidence of PTMA’s contribution to the development of science and civilization in Indonesia.

Some of the advantages achieved by PTMA are triggered by the presence of quality human resources (HR). Indicators include the number of professors, functional ranks, and academic education levels of teaching staff or lecturers.

Here are the eight Muhammadiyah `Aisyiyah Universities that achieved Excellent accreditation:

Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY)

UMY, which was established on March 1, 1981, has achieved Excellent accreditation in 2022. Commitment to academic excellence and Islamic values are the cornerstones of its achievements.

Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD)

UAD achieved Superior accreditation status based on BAN-PT Decree number 393/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/PT/V/2023, valid from May 30, 2023 to October 11, 2027.

Kerjasama internasional 2

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) of Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta continues to be committed to improving international cooperation as well as the quality of education and graduates. One of the concrete steps taken is through a comparative study of the Nutrition study program to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, which took place on January 3 to 6, 2024.

In his statement, Ali Imron, M.Fis, as Dean of FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta, said that efforts to improve the quality of education in the health sector, especially the Nutrition study program, are part of the university’s vision to become a quality education provider and make a positive contribution to society.

“UNISA Yogyakarta’s Nutrition Study Program is a major source of support for people who need educational services in the health sector. We believe that by conducting a comparative study, we can gain new insights and experiences to continuously improve the quality of our education and contribution,” said Imron.

The main purpose of this comparative study, according to the Head of the Nutrition Study Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, Agung Nugroho, A.MG., MPH, is to learn more about the establishment of a nutrition study and consultation center and the management of education, especially in terms of curriculum. In addition, UNISA Yogyakarta hopes to understand the standard of laboratory equipment used at UiTM.

“By learning from UiTM’s experience, we hope to implement best practices at UNISA, especially in lecturer capacity building, international journal writing, research collaboration, and student exchange,” Agung added.

During the visit to UiTM, not only comparative study activities were held, but also the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between UNISA Yogyakarta and UiTM Malaysia. This is the first step to strengthen cooperation in various fields, including knowledge exchange, curriculum development, and implementation of joint research activities.

With this collaboration, it is expected that UNISA Yogyakarta can continue to contribute positively in the field of health through the implementation of quality education that is relevant to the development of science and the needs of society.
