To deepen the understanding of mental health, the Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni (BKA) and the Psychology Undergraduate Study Program of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta, held a workshop with the theme “Mental Health for Better Life”, for two days (22-23/01). The workshop invited 4 resource persons, namely Dr. Aisah Indati, MS, Psychologist, Dra. Elly Nur Hayati, MH, Ph.D, Psychologist, Dr. Pihasniwati, S.Psi, M.A, Psychologist, and Dr. Raden Rachmy Diana, M.A, Psychologist. Attended by 323 Academic Supervisors (DPA) and 20 student representatives from Ormawa.
Prof.Mufdlilah, S.SiT., M.Sc., as Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, Islamic Religion, Kemuhammadiyahan- Ke `Aisyiyahan, explained that this workshop was held in order to establish friendship by inviting all DPA, to increase understanding related to handling students who have problems during lectures and problems in mental health. “We hope that DPA will be able to do counseling on the achievement of therapeutic communication as a part that can be felt for services to students,” explained Mufdlilah.
Mufdlilah also explained, DPA is expected to provide solutions and solve problems faced by students, so that with the workshop there is provision for DPA to carry out mentoring duties comprehensively and perfectly. DPAs are also encouraged to pay attention to their students by helping with existing problems, so that the lecture process and the academic achievement process run smoothly, so that they become outstanding students.
Yekti Satriyandari, S.ST., M.Kes., as the Head of BKA UNISA Yogyakarta, also explained that the 20 students who participated in the training in the future will become co-trainers for peer group training for students.
