Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta Achieves Excellent Accreditation from BAN-PT

Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta, again achieved a brilliant achievement by obtaining superior accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). The announcement was made through BAN-PT Decree No. 8/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/I/2024 on Tuesday (16/01).

The accreditation achieved by UNISA Yogyakarta is proof of the quality of higher education produced by the university. The accreditation process involves a thorough assessment of various aspects, including curriculum, teaching staff, facilities, management, and graduate quality.

Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat welcomed this achievement. This excellent accreditation is the result of the hard work of the entire academic community of UNISA Yogyakarta. “Alhamdulillah, UNISA Yogyakarta has achieved Superior Higher Education Accreditation (APT) with a total score of 369. This means that UNISA Yogyakarta has superior achievements and capabilities in terms of the quality of its education. The superior recognition by BAN-PT guarantees the quality of UNISA Yogyakarta’s education. We are committed to continuously improving the quality of education and making a positive contribution to society”, said Warsiti.

This achievement also shows UNISA Yogyakarta’s commitment to maintaining high standards of higher education that are relevant to the needs of the times. With the accreditation achieved now, it is expected that UNISA Yogyakarta can continue to be a center of education and produce quality graduates, becoming graduates who are able to compete on a national and international scale. With this accreditation, UNISA Yogyakarta is expected to further contribute to enlightening the nation.

‘Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta is facing an important moment in its journey as a higher education institution, by undergoing a field assessment for university accreditation conducted by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), this assessment took place in the courtroom of the Siti Moendjijah building on Friday (12/01).

The three assessors sent by BAN-PT to conduct this field assessment are Prof. Dr. Indrianty Sudirman, SE, M.Si, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Adang Suhendra, SSi, SKom, MSc, and Dr. Onny Setiani, Ph.D. They will evaluate various aspects of performance and quality at UNISA Yogyakarta.

Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, in her speech stated that this field assessment is a long-awaited moment for the entire academic community. Great hopes are pinned to get superior accreditation scores, as a form of recognition for the dedication and quality of education that has been provided by UNISA.

The Chairperson of UNISA Yogyakarta’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Siti Noordjannah Djohantini, M.M., M.Si., explained that UNISA Yogyakarta has a mandate that is not simple and plays a strategic role as a higher institution in charge of educating the nation. The success of this assessment is expected to further strengthen UNISA’s position as a quality educational institution.

Meanwhile, Prof. drh. Aris Junaidi, Ph.D, as Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region V, expressed his support for this assessment activity. LLDIKTI has a major role in improving the quality of higher education, and UNISA Yogyakarta is considered to have shown its dedication through several study programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences that have been accredited superior.

“Excellent accreditation for UNISA is not just an achievement, but also a reflection of its commitment and dedication to providing quality higher education to the community,” said Aris.

All parties hope that the results of this field assessment will provide an accurate picture of the quality and quality of education at UNISA Yogyakarta, and strengthen the university’s position in the world of higher education in Indonesia.

Vice Rector I of UNISA Yogyakarta, Taufiqur Rahman, S.IP., MA, Ph.D, highlighted this in preparation for Higher Education Accreditation (APT).

Taufiq explained that the embodiment of these values is reflected in the five basic values that serve as the university’s organizational culture, abbreviated as AMALKU (Akhlak Mulia, Amanah, Profesional, Kolaboratif, dan Unggul). These values become the foundation of the Islamic Life Guidelines for Campus Citizens as well as various other ethical guidelines.

Furthermore, the implementation of progressive Islamic values at UNISA Yogyakarta is manifested through a commitment to always display the best performance and enthusiasm in developing innovations in their respective fields with high ethical standards. This is an important point in providing clear direction for each employee.

In line with the Message of Progressive Islam, UNISA Yogyakarta also affirms the concept of Progressive Women’s Values. The implementation of these values can be seen from the equality maintained between male and female employees in developing careers, creating innovations, and achieving the highest achievements. One of the main initiatives undertaken by UNISA is the socialization and implementation of the Lodong Sisa Dapur (LOSIDA) program. This program not only educates, but also involves residents around the campus with the distribution of LOSIDA composter and buckets. This step provides an opportunity for the surrounding community to take an active role in managing kitchen waste efficiently and environmentally friendly.

Not only that, every Saturday at UNISA Yogyakarta is a routine moment for employees to participate in gymnastic activities and undergo regular health checks. This shows serious concern for the well-being and health of campus members, ensuring they remain in top condition to contribute optimally in the academic environment.

Efforts to reduce the use of plastic are also a focus of UNISA Yogyakarta. Through the zero plastic waste campaign, the entire academic community plays an active role in reducing the use of plastic on campus. This step is a real effort to reduce the negative impact of plastic use on the environment.

Dr. Yuli Isnaeni, S.Kep., M.Kep., Sp.Kom, Vice Rector II of UNISA Yogyakarta, emphasized UNISA’s commitment in maintaining the health and welfare of all employees. One of the problems in developing countries is the increase in degenerative diseases, one of which is hypertension. It is estimated that hypertension sufferers will increase rapidly in the next 15 years, especially in developing countries. The negative impacts are quite large, including stroke for the brain, coronary heart disease for the heart blood vessels and for the heart muscle. Given the increasing incidence of hypertension and the danger of complications caused, it is necessary to check blood pressure, uric acid and glucose as well as counseling on blood pressure, blood sugar and uric acid levels to monitor their health conditions more easily.

This community service was carried out by Yekti Satriyandari, S.ST., M.Kes and Fathiyaturrohmah, S.ST., M.Kes along with students from the Midwifery Study Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta in Vietnam, precisely in the Old City of Hoi An, especially at the paradise hotel and also the Hoi An Conversation Hall. The PKM team chose to check blood pressure, uric acid and glucose as well as counseling on blood pressure, blood sugar levels and excessive uric acid. Activity Objective The purpose of this activity is to provide basic health information to the community about Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and Uric Acid.

Hoi An is a legendary city with a well-preserved Old Town atmosphere that is visited by many tourists, both international and domestic tourists. In Hoi An there is a Legendary Night where colorful lanterns are lit throughout the city and local food is served around the stunning Hoi An Old Town. With the characteristics of the area in Hoi An, many people work as traders, tourguides until nighttime, which disturbs public health. The tradition of the people in Hoi An is that many elderly women and men work until night to sell along the streets and in the legendary night area. Women who are wives and mothers as well as workers, tend to lead them to work-family conflict related to their main duties as mothers and wives.

PKM activities began with socialization related to the implementation of international service activities to visitors, peddlers in the Conversation Hall area and fellow VICC competition teams. Through this socialization activity, it is hoped that it can attract many participants to participate in the examination so that community service activities can run as expected. Furthermore, preparing the place and means of implementing health checks includes checking blood pressure, uric acid and blood sugar.

Implementation of community service activities at the hotel on April 4 – 5, 2023 at 06.00-08.00 with the target of hotel workers and visitors staying at the hotel. Continued at the Conversation Hall on April 4 – 5, 2023 at 10.00-15.00 with the target of sellers and also VICC contestants.

From the examination results, 2 participants were found to have blood pressure above normal (140/90 mmHg). From the anamnesis conducted, it was found that there were several residents who had a history of hypertension and many of them had high risk factors for hypertension, namely a lifestyle that was not well controlled. When the activity began, the elderly who came were directed to register, after which blood pressure measurements, blood glucose and uric acid checks were carried out using the stick method.

Overall, this international service activity runs well and smoothly and can provide benefits to the participants.
