Memperluas dakwah 1

Aisyiyah’s Ramadan recitation at the Convention Hall of the Walidah Dahlan Mosque of Universitas Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta on Saturday, (23/4), became a place to strengthen and expand the universal humanitarian mission. In her speech, the Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, M.Kep., Sp.Mat, emphasized that the existence of UNISA Yogyakarta is a form of women’s struggle and proof of the work of Aisyiyah women. Warsiti also emphasized the responsibility to continue advancing UNISA Yogyakarta as a driving force in the struggle of Aisyiyah.

The Chairperson of PP Aisyiyah, Dr.Apt., Salmah Orbayinah, M.Kes, explained that the theme of the recitation on universal humanitarian da’wah was chosen as a tribute to Muhammadiyah’s achievements in the humanitarian field, namely the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity 2024 received on February 5. This award is an international recognition of Muhammadiyah’s efforts in humanitarian action and peace, being the first award received in Asia.

Salmah said that this achievement is a source of pride for Muhammadiyah, Aisyiyah, and Indonesia, and will encourage them to increase their work in humanitarian and peace missions at the local, national, and global levels.

Furthermore, she said that Ramadan is not only a month for fasting, but also for performing other recommended acts of worship. With the ease provided by Allah, Muslims are asked to utilize the month of Ramadan to increase closeness to Him and increase human values such as compassion, mutual respect, help, justice, honesty, and peace.

Aisyiyah has long carried out humanitarian actions as part of expanding its inclusive da’wah based on the Quran and hadith. Aisyiyah’s humanitarian da’wah is not only for Aisyiyah citizens but also for the wider community, as Aisyiyah understands diversity as a national asset that must be preserved and united in Indonesian harmony.

This Ramadan recitation presented speakers who are competent in their fields, divided into three sessions and sub-themes, namely (1) Universal Humanitarian Da’wah; Theological, Ideological and Historical Approaches; (2) Praxis of Universal Humanitarian Da’wah; A Reflection; (3) Universal Humanitarian Da’wah; Challenges, Models and Strategies. A total of 1200 participants, both offline and online, from all over Indonesia attended the PP Aisyiyah Ramadan recitation.

This activity became a momentum to strengthen the commitment in spreading the da’wah of universal humanity and affirming Aisyiyah’s role as the frontline in humanitarian and peace missions.
