Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta was trusted by the Tabligh and Ketarjihan Council (MTK) of theCentral Leadership of`Aisyiyah to organize a hybrid Madrasah Ketarjihan. The activity took place over two days, from February 17 to 18, 2024, in the courtroom of Siti Moendjijah building, UNISA Yogyakarta.

The Tabligh and Ketarjihan Assembly (MTK) of the Central Leadership of `Aisyiyah organized this Madrasah Ketarjihan with the aim of providing a broad and in-depth insight into ketarjihan and its implementation in various Tarjih products to ‘Aisyiyah Ulama cadres, especially members of the Ketarjihan Study Division of the Tabligh and Ketarjihan Assembly at the regional level. This activity is also one of the efforts to overcome the problem of the Tarjih Ulama cadre crisis among ‘Aisyiyah.

Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat as Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta welcomed and thanked UNISA Yogyakarta for the opportunity to host this Madrasah Ketarjihan activity.

“This activity is very important considering the issues related to religion and nationality in our society today. With the Madrasah Ketarjihan activity, it is hoped that a broader understanding of Islam with a progressive view of Islam will be created,” said Warsiti.

Evi Sofia Inayati, S.Psi, Chairperson of the Tabligh and Ketarjihan Assembly stated that UNISA as a charity is the pride and flagship of `Aisyiyah.

“From UNISA, thinkers, scientists, and even scholars will be born. This two-day activity is expected to build and increase the spirit of tajdid of ‘Aisyiyah scholars,” said Evi.

Madrasah Ketarjihan was attended by dozens of participants from various regions, who enthusiastically participated in various discussion and learning sessions held for two full days, by inviting 5 credible speakers in the field of ketarjihan. It is expected to provide an understanding of the meaning and perspective of Manhaj Tarjih, the source of Islamic teachings from the Tarjih perspective, takhrij hadith, approaches (bayani, burhani, and irfani).

Initiated by the Regional Leadership of ‘Aisyiyah (PWA) DIY through the Social Welfare Assembly (Makesos), in collaboration with PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital, and Yogyakarta ‘Aisyiyah University (UNISA), PWA Makesos held the Second Batch of Pramurukti Training, Saturday (17/02).

Wuri Astuti, Chairperson of the PWA DIY Social Welfare Assembly, explained that the purpose of this training was to respond to the needs of the community to provide assistance to families, especially the elderly. All participants are Pramurukti private employees who have approximately 2-5 years of experience in assisting patients.

“The focus of the Social Welfare Assembly is five groups, Duafa, Elderly, Women Victims of Violence or marginalized, Disabled, and Children,” explained Wuri.

Located at UNISA Yogyakarta Integrated Campus, the Pramurukti Training was attended by 48 participants from various regions, such as Yogyakarta, East Java, Central Java, West Java, and North Sulawesi. All participants will go through theoretical classes followed by practice with their mentors.

There are 4 theoretical class materials, namely Thaharoh with Dr. Sri Handayani, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Elderly Worship with Dra.Umi Hidayati, MPD., Holistic Elderly Assistance with Dr. Rochana Ruliyandari, and Akhlaq with Wuri Astuti.

In the practical material, participants will get 7 stages that will be taught by each expert. Isti Istiati as one of the practice mentors also explained, this training lasted for 2 days face-to-face and then continued with practical assistance for 1 month.

In order to increase synergy, the Regional Leadership Council of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (DPD IMM) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta stayed in touch and held an audience with the leadership of UNISA Yogyakarta.

The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, in this case represented by Prof. Dr. Mufdlilah, S.SiT., M.Sc, received a visit from a group of DPD IMM Yogyakarta, in the rectorate room of Siti Walidah building UNISA Yogya, on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

The delegation of DPD IMM DIY led directly by the Chairman Muh. Taufiq Firdaus, and several leaders of DPD IMM DIY (General Secretary, 1st Secretary, General Treasurer, 1st Treasurer, TKK Field, IMMawati Field, SBO Field) and also attended the Chairman of PC IMM AR Fakhruddin Yogyakarta City.

Prof. Mufdlilah was accompanied by Iwan Setiawan from LPPI UNISA Yogyakarta, Head of Student Affairs and Alumni Bureau, and Deputy Dean of FEISHum UNISA Yogyakarta.

The presence of DPD IMM DIY was welcomed by Prof. Mufdlilah. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the arrival of DPD IMM DIY as a form of ikhtiyar in establishing warm communication between Muhammadiyah/Aisyiyah charities and Muhammadiyah organizations.

“I represent the leadership of UNISA Yogyakarta, I am very happy and grateful for the arrival of DPD IMM DIY friends today, there are many things that we can discuss about agendas that can be collaborated in the future.” said WR III UNISA Yogya.

Daus, the Vice President of IMM Yogyakarta, Dr. Firdaus, stated that the presence of IMM DIY at UNISA Yogyakarta was in the framework of friendship and initial hearings after the inauguration of the new DPD IMM DIY. As for the agenda, Daus expressed his appreciation to UNISA Yogya for always being willing to be a partner of IMM DIY in carrying out leadership and cadre programs and agendas.

“It is hoped that UNISA Yogya will always be a good partner in the leadership and cadre agenda of the Muhammadiyah Student Association which is sustainable. We as cadres of the Muhammadiyah ortom (IMM) always need direction, guidance, and support from the father / mother of Muhammadiyah.” Firdaus said.

In the agenda of the gathering, it discussed the offer of movements that could be collaborated intitusianly between IMM DIY and UNISA Yogyakarta in the future. Prof. Mufdlilah conveyed the focus of UNISA Yogyakarta which became a campus with a health and women’s style. She hopes that IMM can be a partner in reading health issues and the progressive women’s movement.

Furthermore, Daus welcomed the delivery and direction from the leadership of UNISA Yogya. He emphasized the harmony of the direction of motion that will be worked on by DPD IMM DIY in the next period.

“Hopefully it will be a good start in this meeting, an initial commitment and provision for us (DPD IMM DIY) to navigate one period ahead,” added Firdaus.

Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta has been appointed as polling station (TPS) Special Location (LOCSUS) 901 by the Sleman Regency General Election Committee (KPU). Siti Moendjijah Building UNISA Yogyakarta, Wednesday (14/02) witnessed the democratic process.

Fitri Emiliyana, Chairperson of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS), expressed her satisfaction with UNISA Yogyakarta’s role in facilitating students from outside the region to cast their votes in the 2024 elections, with the aim of preventing abstention.

“As an institution of higher education, UNISA Yogyakarta participates in the efforts to succeed the democracy in Indonesia,” said Fitri.

Fitri added that the voting process at TPS Loksus 901 went smoothly. “Alhamdulillah, we have done our job well. Regardless of who wins and is elected, our hope is to get a leader who is trustworthy, honest, and able to provide the best for the people of Indonesia.”

Although the list of registered voters at UNISA Yogyakarta’s Loksus 901 polling station totaled 176 people, only 93 people attended the polling day, while 83 others were absent. Nevertheless, the turnout showed the strong enthusiasm of the UNISA Yogyakarta academic community in the democratic process.

With UNISA Yogyakarta becoming a polling station for this part of the democratic process, it is hoped that students and the community involved will be more aware of the importance of their voting rights in shaping the future of the nation.

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah’ (UNISA) Yogyakarta through the Rectors Forum of Muhammadiyah ‘Aisyiyah’ Universities (PTMA) was involved in organizing exit polls and quick counts in the 2024 General Election. The students who were assigned to collect vote scores for quick count purposes were placed in 19 polling stations (TPS), Wednesday (14/02).

Gerry Katon Mahendra, S.IP., M.IP, Head of the Public Administration Study Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, who is also the PIC in Sleman Regency DIY, stated that the exit poll results were obtained from voters who were interviewed using the online method after voting. “The number of sampling stations has been determined in accordance with the sampling method, and each province has a different number of polling stations,” said Gerry.

Gerry hopes that the exit poll and quick count can help oversee the democratic process. “So this is a program of the university rectors forum, and UNISA Yogyakarta is one of those who participated in the implementation,” he added.

UNISA Yogyakarta’s participation in this activity is a form of contribution from Muhammadiyah to the democratic party in Indonesia. Since its formation at the end of 2023, this step has become part of the efforts of the PTMA Rector Forum in fulfilling its responsibility to succeed the political life of the Indonesian nation.

The active involvement of higher education institutions such as UNISA Yogyakarta in the election process shows their commitment to support and ensure a transparent and quality democratic process in Indonesia.
