Expert Lecture: TLM Students Explore Typhoid Diagnosis With ELISA Method

The D4 Medical Laboratory Technology (TLM) Study Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta held an expert lecture on Medical Laboratory Technology in the field of clinical chemistry: Gastrointestinal Expert Lecture 2024. This event was held online via zoom meeting and live YouTube of the Medical Laboratory Technology study program at Unisa Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (17/01).

This expert lecture presented Dr. Tong Woei Yenn from Universiti Kuala Lumpur as the main speaker with the theme “Diagnosis Confirmation of Typhoid Fever Through Anti-Salmonella Detection Using ELISA Method”. The event was hosted by Moderator Tita Liana Kusria Nur Pradana, TLM student class of 2021.

In her remarks, Monika Putri Solikah, S.ST., M. Biomed, the coordinator in charge of the Gastrointestinal Laboratory Examination course, expressed her appreciation for the presence of Dr. Tong Woei Yenn. She also officially opened the 2024 Gastrointestinal expert lecture.

Dr. Tong Woei Yenn comprehensively reviewed the Diagnosis Confirmation of Typhoid Fever Through Anti-Salmonella Detection Using ELISA Method. The material presented included Type ELISA, sensitivity, specificity, sampling procedures, examination steps, as well as crucial things that must be considered and interpretation of the results.

This expert lecture is a clear proof of the commitment of the TLM study program at UNISA Yogyakarta in advancing health science and providing in-depth understanding to students. Focusing on the science of clinical chemistry, especially in the diagnosis of typhoid using the ELISA method, this event creates a generation of competent medical laboratory personnel.

The enthusiasm of the students was very visible, as evidenced by the many questions asked. Dr. Tong Woei Yenn dedicatedly answered all questions in both English and Malay, ensuring optimal understanding for the participants.

The Gastrointestinal Expert Lecture 2024 at UNISA Yogyakarta was not only a learning event but also a platform to inspire and motivate the 104 students who attended online in developing expertise in the field of medical laboratory. Hopefully, events like this will continue to be held to produce a generation of superior and competitive medical laboratory technologists.

20 UNISA Yogyakarta Communication Science Students Pass MSIB MBKM Batch 6

A brilliant achievement was made by 20 students of the Communication Science Study Program of the Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences and Humanities (FEISHUM) Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta class of 2021. They successfully passed the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) Merdeka Learning Campus Batch 6.

Kampus Merdeka Certified Internship is an accelerated and accelerated internship program with a well-designed learning experience. The Merdeka Campus Certified Independent Study is an in-class learning that is specially designed and created based on the real challenges faced by partners / industries.

The Head of UNISA’s Communication Science Study Program, Ade Putranto Prasetyo Wijiharto Tunggali, S.I.Kom., M.A, said that this is the third year for the Communication Science Study Program to participate in MSIB. From the 2018 batch, managed to pass 8 students, and the following year followed the same program by only passing 6 students.

“In 2020, the study program provides special treatment by not only socializing, but providing guidance to students to create portfolios and CVs from the results of their studies,” said Ade.

Ade added that motivation is also provided through the presence of MSIB MBKM alumni who have successfully passed, to share experiences with younger siblings who will take part in the program. Lecturers are also actively involved in guiding students to identify their abilities and expertise, ensuring they can carry out internships in accordance with their respective fields of expertise.

“Alhamdulillah, we managed to exceed the target from 10 to 20 students who passed the MSIB MBKM. Hopefully, this achievement can be maintained in the following years,” said Ade.

The students who passed MSIB are spread across 8 companies and agencies, both in Java and outside Java. This achievement not only reflects the success of individual students, but also shows the quality and competence of the UNISA Yogyakarta Communication Studies Program in producing graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work.

Alumni Gathering: Vice Rector III of UNISA Yogya Provides Solutions Faced by Alumni

In the series of Visiting Professor activities at Muhammadiyah Mataram University and participation in the Indonesia Education Career Festival (IECA FEST) 2024 in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta took the time to meet alumni at the Golden Palace Hotel Lombok, Friday (19/01).

Attended by Prof. Mufdlilah, S.SiT., M.Sc. (Vice Rector III UNISA Yogyakarta), Yekti Satriyandari, S.ST., M.Kes. (Head of Student Affairs & Alumni Bureau of UNISA Yogyakarta), and Hari Akbar Sugiyantoro, S.I.Kom., M.A. (Promotion Coordinator of UNISA Yogyakarta Admissions Bureau), as many as 40 alumni from various batches enthusiastically participated in the agenda.

Mufdlilah explained that the alumni gathering this time was extraordinary, UNISA Yogyakarta was able to capture what was needed by alumni and what could be given to alumni, besides that it was also informed of the agenda for the establishment of PKU Mataram Hospital which was originally a clinic by the local Muhammadiyah Association. With this opportunity, the alumni can be absorbed as part of the PKU Mataram Hospital.

“This alumni meeting is very useful and we inform them,” explained Mufdlilah.

There are many UNISA Yogyakarta alumni in West Nusa Tenggara, especially those based on health sciences, but there are also graduates from Social Sciences, from the Public Administration Study Program. Mufdlilah said that UNISA Yogyakarta Public Administration graduates are already motivated and willing to become village officials. “He is preparing himself to become a village official, which is something very meaningful in my opinion, it can influence and he can benefit his knowledge for the community,” said Mufdlilah.

There are also hopes from the alumni, they want UNISA Yogyakarta to immediately establish a Doctoral Program in Midwifery, there are even 7 alumni who are ready to develop themselves again with UNISA Yogyakarta. Based on the data from the tracer study that was also conducted at that time, in less than 3 months the alumni had found jobs.

Deepening Mental Health, Student Affairs and Psychology Study Program of UNISA Yogyakarta Hold Workshop

To deepen the understanding of mental health, the Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni (BKA) and the Psychology Undergraduate Study Program of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta, held a workshop with the theme “Mental Health for Better Life”, for two days (22-23/01). The workshop invited 4 resource persons, namely Dr. Aisah Indati, MS, Psychologist, Dra. Elly Nur Hayati, MH, Ph.D, Psychologist, Dr. Pihasniwati, S.Psi, M.A, Psychologist, and Dr. Raden Rachmy Diana, M.A, Psychologist. Attended by 323 Academic Supervisors (DPA) and 20 student representatives from Ormawa.

Prof.Mufdlilah, S.SiT., M.Sc., as Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, Islamic Religion, Kemuhammadiyahan- Ke `Aisyiyahan, explained that this workshop was held in order to establish friendship by inviting all DPA, to increase understanding related to handling students who have problems during lectures and problems in mental health. “We hope that DPA will be able to do counseling on the achievement of therapeutic communication as a part that can be felt for services to students,” explained Mufdlilah.

Mufdlilah also explained, DPA is expected to provide solutions and solve problems faced by students, so that with the workshop there is provision for DPA to carry out mentoring duties comprehensively and perfectly. DPAs are also encouraged to pay attention to their students by helping with existing problems, so that the lecture process and the academic achievement process run smoothly, so that they become outstanding students.

Yekti Satriyandari, S.ST., M.Kes., as the Head of BKA UNISA Yogyakarta, also explained that the 20 students who participated in the training in the future will become co-trainers for peer group training for students.

UNISA Yogyakarta Present at IECA FEST 2024

In an effort to help grade XII students to get information and access to universities in NTB Province, UNISA Yogyakarta attended the Indonesia Education Career Festival (IECA FEST) 2024.

The event was attended by XII grade high school students on Lombok Island. The purpose of the activity is to provide information and insight to students about various excellent study programs and scholarship opportunities available at UNISA Yogyakarta.

IECA FEST was held from January 15 to 20, 2024 in several high schools on Lombok Island. The host high schools include SMAN 2 Selong, SMAN 1 Praya, SMAN 2 Mataram, SMAN 1 Mataram, SMAN 5 Mataram and closed with a gala diner with PJ Governor of NTB Drs. H. Lalu Gita Ariadi, M.Si, Head of NTB Education Office Dr. H. Aidy Furqan, S.Pd., M.Pd and Mr. Lalu Suryadi, SP.MM as Chairman of the Innovation and Technology Development Research Division (BRIDA NTB).

In the gala diner event, UNISA Yogyakarta Vice Rector 3 Prof. Dr. Mufdlilah, S.SiT, M.Keb had the opportunity to provide information and explore cooperation with the NTB provincial government, especially in the field of the tridarma of higher education, the offer was welcomed by Mr. Pj Governor of NTB and his staff which will be followed up in the form of an MOU.

At the end of his speech, Prof. Mufdilah hoped that UNISA could make a real contribution in advancing education in NTB Province.

Dalam upaya membantu siswa kelas XII untuk mendapatkan informasi dan akses masuk Perguruan Tinggi di Provinsi NTB UNISA Yogyakarta hadir dalam acara Indonesia Education Career Festival (IECA FEST) 2024.

Kegiatan diikuti oleh siswa SMA kelas XII yang ada di Pulau Lombok. Tujuan dari kegiatan adalah untuk memberikan informasi dan wawasan kepada siswa mengenai berbagai program Studi unggulan dan peluang beasiswa yang ada di UNISA Yogyakarta

IECA FEST dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 15 sampai dengan 20 Januari 2024 di beberapa SMA di Pulau Lombok. SMA yang menjadi tuan rumah diantaranya SMAN 2 Selong, SMAN 1 Praya, SMAN 2 Mataram, SMAN 1 Mataram , SMAN 5 Mataram dan ditutup dengan  gala diner Bersama PJ Gubernur NTB Drs. H. Lalu Gita Ariadi, M.Si  , Kepala Dinas Pendidikan NTB Dr. H. Aidy Furqan, S.Pd.,M.Pd dan Bapak Lalu Suryadi, SP.MM sebagai Ketua Bidang Penelitian Pengembangan Inovasi dan Teknologi ( BRIDA NTB).

Dalam acara gala diner tersebut juga Wakil Rektor 3 UNISA Yogyakarta  Prof. Dr. Mufdlilah, S.SiT, M.Keb berkesempatan untuk memberikan informasi dan penjajakan Kerjasama kepada pemerintah provinsi NTB khususnya dalam bidang tridarma perguruan tinggi, tawaran tersebut disambut baik oleh Bapak Pj Gubernur NTB beserta jajarannya yang mana akan ditindak lanjuti dalam bentuk MOU .

Diakhir sambutan Prof Mufdilah berharap UNISA dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata  dalam memajukan Pendidikan yang adai di Provinsi NTB.
