The series of events for the 24th Unisa Yogyakarta Professional Oath and Graduation Ceremony left behind an inspiring story. Unisa always has graduates who excel in both academic and non-academic fields. One of them is Fuji Padia Ramdani, who has a myriad of achievements.

Fuji Padia Ramdani is the youngest of two siblings from Bogor, West Java. She studied Midwifery and Professional Studies at Unisa Yogyakarta. On Friday (October 3, 2025), Fuji officially took her professional oath as a midwife. On that occasion, she was also entrusted to represent the students in delivering a farewell speech.

In her speech, Fuji encouraged her peers to always apply the knowledge and values they had acquired during their studies at Unisa Yogyakarta. She emphasized that the educational process, from undergraduate studies to taking the professional oath, was a long journey that required a lot of energy and thought. Fuji reminded everyone that the degree they had earned was not the end, but rather the beginning of a new step for Unisa Yogyakarta alumni to continue to develop and contribute to the nation, state, and religion.

“Today is the day we move forward. There is a saying that the world of work is the real world. All we need are feet that walk more than usual. Hands that do more than usual. Eyes that stare longer than usual. A determination that is a thousand times harder than steel. Hearts that work harder than usual. And a mouth that will always pray,” said Fuji, stirring the emotions of his colleagues on Friday (October 3, 2025).

“May the degrees we earn become the path to future success, and may the knowledge we gain always be put into practice,” he said, closing his speech.

The Journey of Studying at Unisa Yogyakarta

Fuji began her academic journey at Unisa Yogyakarta in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She initially sought a university in Yogyakarta offering a Bachelor of Midwifery program along with a professional program. Upon the recommendation of her teacher at Muhammadiyah High School, where she completed her secondary education, Fuji was introduced to Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta.

After doing more research, Fuji found that Unisa Yogyakarta is a university known for its health programs and has a high-quality midwifery program. This ‘Aisyiyah-owned university was originally established as a Midwifery Academy, then developed into STIKES (College of Health Sciences), and finally transformed into ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta with excellent accreditation. This is what made Fuji confident in choosing Unisa Yogyakarta.

“In terms of quality, Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta is one of the universities recommended by my high school teacher. When I looked into it, Universitas ‘Aisyiyah was already well-known for its midwifery program because it was once a Midwifery Academy, then a Stikes, then a university, and continued to develop until it received excellent accreditation. This certainly made me believe that choosing Unisa was the right choice,” said Fuji.

Fuji has had a very positive experience studying at Unisa Yogyakarta. According to her, Unisa Yogyakarta has excellent learning facilities in the field of health sciences. This has greatly helped her to delve deeper into the material being taught. Additionally, Unisa Yogyakarta also strongly supported Fuji in remaining active in various student organizations such as the Muhammadiyah Student Association and the Midwifery Student Association. This enabled Fuji to develop her potential, both in academic and non-academic fields.

“During my professional education and bachelor’s degree, Unisa Yogyakarta always provided facilities and placed students in hospitals with proven quality. I was also involved in various activities, such as accreditation, which allowed me to develop into who I am today,” he said.

Continuing to Excel and Make His Family Proud

Fuji pursued higher education at Unisa Yogyakarta with a wealth of achievements. In 2023, she was selected as the Indonesian History Care Ambassador and Campus Ambassador. In addition, Fuji also won gold and bronze medals in an essay writing competition held by the Muhammadiyah–’Aisyiyah Midwifery Education Association throughout Indonesia in 2023.

“Even in my profession, I still participate in competitions because Unisa Yogyakarta provides a platform for anyone who wants to grow,” she said.

Fuji draws motivation from himself and his family’s support to keep striving for excellence. He aspires to be an extraordinary student who stands out from his peers who only focus on academics. Thanks to his hard work, Fuji is well known among lecturers and has made friends with fellow students from various fields of study.

“I want to be an outstanding student from a campus that people have not yet recognized as one of the leading campuses in Yogyakarta or Indonesia,” said Fuji.

Ai and Yahya, Fuji’s older sister and brother-in-law, were also present at the event. Ai, Fuji’s biological sister, said she was very proud of her younger brother’s achievements for the family.

“I am so proud of my only sister,” said Ai, crying with emotion.

While hugging her sister, Ai prayed for Fuji to always be successful and perform her duties as a midwife well.

“To my beautiful sister, I hope you will be successful in the future and perform your duties well,” said Ai.
