Unisa Cup is a competition and talent spotting event for new athletes

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (Unisa) Yogyakarta opened a sports competition between students, Unisa Cup, at Unisa Yogyakarta Integrated Campus, Monday (30/6/2025). As part of Unisa Yogyakarta’s 34th anniversary, the competition is expected to produce professional athletes.

Various sports are contested in the Unisa Cup, including badminton, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, and mobile legend. Unisa Cup is planned to be held until July 25, 2025.

“Through sports, sportsmanship and creativity are built. In addition to competition, we hope that through the Unisa Cup as well as screening talents and interests. Hopefully through Unisa Cup activities can find superior seeds to enter the national competition,” said Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta, Warsiti.

Warsiti said the Unisa Cup is also a gathering place between students from various study programs at Unisa Yogyakarta. It is hoped that this will build a sense of togetherness, and can fill and maintain the excellence of Unisa Yogyakarta.

Warsiti also reminded that the winner is not only the champion, but also how to show his fighting power. “This is the first Unisa Cup, hopefully it can become an annual agenda to maintain sportsmanship and creativity,” said Warsiti.

Unisa Cup Chief Organizer, Ahmad Kurniawan said the opening of the Unisa Cup today was not only a ceremonial event, but also a starting point for a series of activities that were expected to provide benefits. “And can foster enthusiasm and sportsmanship,” he hoped.

Vice President of Unisa Yogyakarta, Romy Zachary added that the Unisa Cup is a gathering place for students. It is hoped that this event will be a good start to building solidarity.
