UNISA Yogyakarta Brings Together Hospital Directors and Nutritionists to Discuss the Dietitian Professional Curriculum

The Nutrition Study Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta is preparing a major initiative. FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta is striving to establish a new study program: the Dietitian Professional Program.

As a serious step, FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta immediately brought together experts in the health sector for a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Curriculum Improvement. The event was held in the FIKes conference room, Siti Walidah Building, on Tuesday (November 4, 2025).

Dietitian Profession

A total of 26 participants attended, consisting of various hospital directors—who are, in fact, employers of graduates—as well as representatives from professional associations. They were invited to gather input from various stakeholders, ranging from practitioners and faculty members to alumni.

The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) at UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Dewi Rokhanawati, S.SiT., MPH, openly acknowledged in her opening remarks the importance of input from these external experts. According to her, this FGD is part of a serious effort to establish a high-quality professional program.

“This is one of a series of efforts by the UNISA School of Health Sciences to establish a Dietitian Professional Studies program,” said Dewi.

She openly asked hospital directors and professional associations to provide feedback on the existing draft to ensure its perfection.

“We still need your input to refine the establishment of this dietitian program—including its vision, mission, strengths, and curriculum structure,” he emphasized.

UNISA Yogyakarta has taken this step to ensure that its future dietitian graduates are not only theoretically prepared but also truly ready for the workforce and relevant to the needs of the highly dynamic healthcare and hospital industries.
