UNISA Yogyakarta Heads to Dili, Bringing the Aisyiyah Global Scholarship

‘Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta has once again demonstrated its commitment to going global. Not only does UNISA excel domestically, but it is also actively expanding its international presence by participating in the 2025 Indonesian Higher Education Fair, held at the Indonesian Cultural Center in Dili, Timor-Leste, from October 28–30, 2025.

This event is a strategic initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Timor-Leste, in collaboration with the Education and Culture Attaché, as well as the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. The presence of these high-ranking officials underscores the strong support for Indonesia’s educational diplomacy in the Southeast Asian region.

As a university committed to internationalization, UNISA Yogyakarta is present to expand its global network while opening educational access for prospective students from Global South countries, particularly Timor-Leste.

The UNISA Yogyakarta booth was one of the most visited. The UNISA team provided a range of information services, from academic consultations and on-site registration to instant entrance exams. However, the main attraction was undoubtedly the Global Aisyiyah Scholarship (GAS) program—a prestigious scholarship designed specifically for international students.

The GAS Program is a tangible manifestation of the commitment of UNISA Yogyakarta and ‘Aisyiyah to strengthening the role of women, promoting sustainable health, and advancing humanitarian efforts across nations.

Dr. Hilmi Zadah Faidullah, Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and International Affairs at UNISA Yogyakarta, stated that UNISA’s participation in Dili carries a significant mission.

“UNISA’s presence in Dili is part of the mission of UNISA Yogyakarta and ‘Aisyiyah to share knowledge, humanitarian values, and women’s empowerment on a global scale,” said Hilmi.

With the spirit of “From ‘Aisyiyah to the World,” UNISA Yogyakarta continues to expand its reach as a leading university ready to make a tangible contribution to the advancement of education in the Southeast Asian region.
