The “Dosen Goes to School” program itself is a form of collaboration between UNISA Yogyakarta and its partner schools. The special theme addressed at SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu, “Recognizing One’s Potential for Academic and Career Development,” is intended to help students understand their strengths and interests as a foundation for career development and academic choices at the next level.
The program featured three speakers, namely Dr. Komarudin, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist (Lecturer at the UNISA Yogyakarta Psychology Undergraduate Program), Midwife Intan Mutiara Putri, S.ST., M.Keb (Head of the Admissions Office at UNISA Yogyakarta), and Suwarsono, S.Pd., M.Sc., M.A (Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu).
On this occasion, midwife Intan Mutiara Putri, who is also an alumnus of Sedayu 1 Public High School, shared her inspiring experiences with the students. She said that her active participation in school during high school had helped her recognize her potential and interests, which are now important assets in her current job. “Being active in school allowed me to recognize my achievements and potential since high school, which has become a great support for my current job,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Komarudin encouraged the students to begin recognizing their potential and exploring their unique qualities. He emphasized that understanding oneself is the first step in determining the right direction for future studies and careers.
