Unisa Yogyakarta Holds Professional Oath Ceremony, Encourages Graduates to Adapt to Technological Developments
A total of 714 students from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Aisyiyah University (Unisa) Yogyakarta officially took their professional oath on Friday (October 3, 2025). The graduation ceremony was held solemnly and respectfully at the Unisa Yogyakarta Convention Hall.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by graduates from six Unisa Yogyakarta study programs, namely Nursing, Physiotherapy, Anesthesia, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Radiology. There were a total of 309 graduates from professional programs and 405 from vocational programs. Impressively, the average Grade Point Average (GPA) of the graduates was in the range of 3.96–3.98.
The Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta, Warsiti, said she was very proud of this achievement. According to her, this achievement shows that the competence of Unisa Yogyakarta graduates is at a high and competitive level.
“The average Grade Point Average (GPA) of graduates is in the range of 3.96-3.98. This shows that the academic quality of Unisa graduates is at a high and competitive level,” said Warsiti in her speech on Friday (3/10/2025).
Warsiti also reminded students to fulfill the oath they had taken. She emphasized that taking a professional oath is a moral and spiritual promise. Unisa Yogyakarta graduates must make integrity, professionalism, and empathy their guiding principles in carrying out their duties.
“We must realize together that the professional oath is not just a ceremony, but a moral and spiritual pledge. Starting today, all of you not only carry a title, but also a great mandate to devote yourselves to humanity,” he said.
In addition, the Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta advised alumni to adapt to technological developments and demographic changes. As health professionals, Unisa Yogyakarta graduates must be able to deal with new technologies such as artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and health big data. However, the emergence of these technologies should not cause Unisa alumni to lose their empathy and humanity.
“No matter how advanced technology becomes, society still needs empathy, good communication, and moral integrity from healthcare professionals,” emphasized Warsiti.
The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Unisa Yogyakarta, Dewi Rokhanawati, conveyed a similar message in her speech. She emphasized that digitization and artificial intelligence in the health sector are among the global trends. Therefore, the recent graduates of Unisa Yogyakarta who have just taken their oath are expected to be more adaptable to technology, maintain professionalism and mental health, strengthen ethics, and ensure patient safety and equitable health services.
“I urge all graduates to uphold professional ethics, become professional, integrity-driven, empathetic healthcare workers, adapt to changing times, and always cherish their beloved alma mater,” said Dewi.
