UNISA Yogyakarta’s Involvement In Exit Poll and Quick Count of 2024 Election
Universitas ‘Aisyiyah’ (UNISA) Yogyakarta through the Rectors Forum of Muhammadiyah ‘Aisyiyah’ Universities (PTMA) was involved in organizing exit polls and quick counts in the 2024 General Election. The students who were assigned to collect vote scores for quick count purposes were placed in 19 polling stations (TPS), Wednesday (14/02).
Gerry Katon Mahendra, S.IP., M.IP, Head of the Public Administration Study Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, who is also the PIC in Sleman Regency DIY, stated that the exit poll results were obtained from voters who were interviewed using the online method after voting. “The number of sampling stations has been determined in accordance with the sampling method, and each province has a different number of polling stations,” said Gerry.
Gerry hopes that the exit poll and quick count can help oversee the democratic process. “So this is a program of the university rectors forum, and UNISA Yogyakarta is one of those who participated in the implementation,” he added.
UNISA Yogyakarta’s participation in this activity is a form of contribution from Muhammadiyah to the democratic party in Indonesia. Since its formation at the end of 2023, this step has become part of the efforts of the PTMA Rector Forum in fulfilling its responsibility to succeed the political life of the Indonesian nation.
The active involvement of higher education institutions such as UNISA Yogyakarta in the election process shows their commitment to support and ensure a transparent and quality democratic process in Indonesia.
