This achievement demonstrates the quality of Unisa Yogyakarta in providing high-quality higher education. In addition to academic excellence, Unisa Yogyakarta has also enhanced the quality of its students through certification by the Professional Certification Body (LSP), licensed by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). The competencies of Unisa Yogyakarta alumni are certified, enabling them to compete in the job market. LSP Unisa Yogyakarta currently has three professional competency certification schemes, namely Human Resources Supervisor, Occupational Safety and Health Officer, and Help Desk Technician.
Furthermore, Unisa Yogyakarta remains committed to supporting student achievements in both academic and non-academic fields. During the graduation ceremony, Unisa Yogyakarta awarded prizes to students who excelled in academic and non-academic fields, both nationally and globally.
The Rector of Unisa Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, in her speech expressed her appreciation for the series of achievements made by the entire academic community. This success is a source of pride for both the campus and families.
“Because of these achievements, on behalf of the rector and all lecturers and educational staff at Unisa Yogyakarta, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the achievements that you (students) have made for the Unisa Yogyakarta campus. Of course, this is a source of pride for the graduates and their families,” said Warsiti.
The rector of Unisa Yogyakarta then advised the graduates to never stop learning. The big challenges faced when stepping into the professional world are not only technological disruption or digital revolution, but also moral and value challenges. Warsiti hopes that Unisa Yogyakarta alumni will always think ahead, never give up, have integrity, be empathetic, and have noble character.
“Continue to learn throughout your life (lifelong learning), master technology without losing your humanity, become leaders in your communities, no matter how small, and become ambassadors of Unisa who bring good name to your alma mater at the local, national, and global levels,” said Warsiti.
Meanwhile, the Head of LLDIKTI Region V Yogyakarta, Prof. Setyabudi Indartono, M.M., Ph.D., also congratulated all graduates in his speech. He reminded them that the professional world is very different from college. Therefore, graduation is the beginning of the tasks that Unisa Yogyakarta alumni must carry out in life.
“Upon completing your studies, you will face new responsibilities, new challenges, and heavier burdens than during your academic years—namely, upholding the reputation of your alma mater. Work professionally, maintain your integrity, and ensure you maximize your full potential to make a broader impact,” said Prof. Setyabudi.
Setyabudi also praised Unisa Yogyakarta for its significant role in the academic sphere in the Yogyakarta region. Unisa Yogyakarta has a good reputation and branding, making it the choice of the community. Of the many private universities, only nine have achieved excellent accreditation, including Unisa Yogyakarta.
“Hopefully, Unisa Yogyakarta will not stop at this achievement. With its existing potential, its community, and its alumni, I am confident that Unisa Yogyakarta will be even better in the future,” said Setyabudi.
He then set a target for all study programs at Unisa Yogyakarta to be accredited as excellent as soon as possible.
The Chairperson of PP ‘Aisyiyah, Dr. apt. Salmah Orbayinah, M.Kes., Apt., also extended her congratulations. On behalf of PP ‘Aisyiyah, she expressed her pride in the achievements of the graduates and Unisa Yogyakarta.
“Cooperation between all parties, both internal and external to Unisa Yogyakarta, must be maintained so that Unisa Yogyakarta continues to progress and achieve more and more. In fact, its acceleration may be so rapid that it surpasses the existing Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah universities,” said the Chairperson of PP ‘Aisyiyah.
To the graduates, Salmah advised them not to forget the values of Islam and Muhammadiyah that had been instilled in them. Unisa Yogyakarta graduates must become young intellectuals with noble character, honesty, and care for others.
“Indonesia does not need scholars who are only excellent in the academic field. Indonesia, which continues to progress, needs young scholars who are excellent, moral, noble, and concerned with the problems that exist in society today,” said Salmah.
He then reminded the graduates of the story of Ashabul Kahfi in the Qur’an, which tells of seven young men who remained steadfast in their belief in the truth. Unisa Yogyakarta alumni must emulate them in working with integrity.
“Be a generation that upholds its beliefs if they are true. Do not back down. Do not be influenced by things that can dampen your enthusiasm for work. Be a generation that is humble and sensitive to humanitarian issues,” said the Chairwoman of PP ‘Aisyiyah.
