Planting Green Seeds For a Sustainable Future at UNISA

The Student Executive Board (BEM-KM) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta once again showed its concern for the environment. In a series of Unisa Green Day’s events, BEM-KM successfully established a strong collaboration with the Sleman Regency Environmental Agency (DLH). This collaboration was marked by the provision of 30 plant seeds of various types that will beautify the campus and support environmental conservation efforts, Wednesday (14/08).

During the visit to Sleman Environmental Agency Annisa Ul Mardhiyah, Minister of Social and Community of BEM-KM UNISA Yogyakarta, revealed that the enthusiasm of the academic community towards Unisa Green Day’s is very high. In addition to collecting and managing paper and plastic waste, the event was also filled with tree planting activities.

“Unisa Green Day’s is a concrete proof of our commitment to realize UNISA as a green campus,” said Annisa.

Esa Jongko Budi Angkoso, UNISA Student President, added that this activity is the first step in UNISA’s ongoing efforts to create a more friendly and sustainable campus environment.

“We hope that collaboration with DLH Sleman can continue and inspire other campuses to participate in protecting the environment,” said Esa.

The Head of Environmental Control Division of DLH Sleman, Mrs. Eni Yuliani, positively welcomed the initiative of BEM-KM UNISA.

“Students as the young generation have an important role in protecting the environment. We really appreciate their enthusiasm to contribute,” said Eni.

UNISA Yogyakarta Collaborates With PCA Kraton to Improve The Quality of Health Cadres

Universitas Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta has once again shown its commitment in improving the health status of the community. This time, through the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes), UNISA Yogyakarta collaborated with the Branch Manager ofAisyiyah (PCA) Kraton to organize a Health Cadre Training. This activity aims to equip health cadres with the knowledge and skills needed to provide basic health services at the community level, Saturday (03/08).

The training, which was attended by 27 participants from various areas in Kraton, focused on maternal and child health issues. The materials presented included early detection of child growth through weight and height measurement, as well as education on the importance of maintaining the health of pregnant women.

“Cadres have a very strategic role in improving the health status of the community. Through this training, we hope that cadres can become agents of change in their environment,” said Evi Wahyuntari.

The high maternal and child mortality rate in Indonesia is a serious concern. One of the contributing factors is the lack of public access to health information. Health cadres, as an extension of health workers, have an important role in overcoming this problem. By providing health education directly to the community, cadres can help raise awareness of the importance of maintaining good health.

As a follow-up to this training, the cadres will conduct identification of toddlers and pregnant women in their respective areas. The data obtained will be used as the basis for developing a more targeted health promotion program.

“We hope this training can be the first step in improving the quality of life of people in Kraton,” added Laila Desi Ikawati.

UNISA Yogyakarta Realizes Green Campus With Eco Enzyme

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta in an effort to realize a green and sustainable campus participated in the 2024 Eco Enzyme Festival, which is one of the agendas in breaking the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) record for the category “Pouring Eco Enzyme Liquid by the Most Universities in Indonesia”, this activity was held in front of the UNISA Faculty of Medicine yard, Monday (12/08).

Eco Enzyme itself is a fermentation product from kitchen organic waste such as leftover fruits and vegetables that has many benefits, including as an organic fertilizer, natural cleaner, and organic waste decomposer. By utilizing eco enzyme, UNISA Yogyakarta contributes to reducing organic waste and preserving the environment.

Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, in her speech said that this activity is not only limited to chasing records, but also a form of UNISA’s commitment to play an active role in protecting the environment.

“Waste emergency is a serious problem in Yogyakarta. Through this festival, we want to show that UNISA is serious in addressing environmental issues and realizing a green campus,” he said.

UNISA and Green Campus Commitment

This activity is in line with UNISA’s efforts to achieve a better ranking in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. UI GreenMetric is a ranking of universities in the world based on their environmental performance. With various initiatives like this, UNISA continues to strive to improve the quality of the campus environment and make a positive contribution to society.

Sleman Pintar Scholarship Realizes 117 Students’ Dreams to Study at UNISA

Sleman – Good news for 117 prospective students in Sleman Regency! Through the Sleman Pintar scholarship program, they can now continue their studies at ‘Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta. The symbolic handover of this scholarship was carried out at the Hall of the Sleman Regent’s Office House, Saturday (10/08).

A total of 117 students who have been accepted at UNISA Yogyakarta in various study programs according to data from the Admissions Bureau, were accompanied by their parents and guardians.

The Sleman Pintar scholarship program initiated by the Sleman Regency Government has given new hope to many young people in Sleman. With this scholarship, they can achieve their dreams without being constrained by economic limitations.

Head of the Sleman Regency Social Service, Mustadi, revealed that the selection of UNISA Yogyakarta as a cooperation partner was based on the vision to produce excellent human resources in the health sector.

“We hope this collaboration can continue and provide wider benefits for the people of Sleman, and this is the second time we have run this program together,” said Mustadi.
The Regent of Sleman, Kustini Sri Purnomo, in her speech expressed the hope that the scholarship recipients can make the best use of this opportunity to learn and develop themselves.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector II of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Yuli Isnaeni, is committed to providing the best education for the scholarship recipients so that they can graduate on time and get satisfactory grades.

UNISA Yogyakarta Collaborates to Improve the Quality of Early Childhood Education In Sleman

In Indonesia, especially in early childhood. Through a community service program, a team of UNISA Yogyakarta lecturers, Rosmita Nuzuliana and Ellyda Rizki Wijhati, initiated Stimulation Detection Intervention of Growth and Development (SDIDTK) training for PAUD teachers at Uswatun Khasanah PAUD, Sleman, Tuesday (06/08).

The Importance of Early Childhood Education

Childhood is a golden period in human development. During this time, the child’s brain develops rapidly and is very vulnerable to various stimulations. Early Childhood Education (ECED) plays an important role in providing the right stimulation for children to grow and develop optimally.

However, there are still many challenges faced in organizing PAUD, especially related to early detection of child development problems. The lack of capacity of PAUD teachers in the field of health is one of the obstacles.

UNISA provides solutions

Recognizing the importance of early detection of child development problems, UNISA through community service programs seeks to provide solutions. The SDIDTK training aims to increase the capacity of PAUD teachers in stimulating, early detection, and intervention of children’s growth and development.

In this training, PAUD teachers will be given comprehensive materials, including:

MCH book literacy improvement: The MCH book (Kartu Menuju Sehat) is an important tool for monitoring children’s growth and development.

Anthropometric examination training: Anthropometric screening is used to measure children’s physical growth, such as height and weight.

Interpretation of nutritional status: Teachers will learn how to interpret the results of anthropometric examinations to determine the nutritional status of children.

Detection of emotional behavioral problems: Teachers will be trained to recognize early signs of emotional behavior problems in children.

With this training, it is hoped that PAUD teachers at Uswatun Khasanah PAUD POS can improve the quality of education and learning, detect growth and development problems, and provide appropriate interventions.
