Global Conference Woman Rights In Islam Encourages International Dialogue on Women’s Rights
Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta is ready to host the Global Conference Woman Rights in Islam which will be held from May 14 to 16, 2024. The event will take place at UNISA Yogyakarta’s Walidah Dahlan Mosque Convention Hall, serving as an important platform for international dialog on women’s rights in Islam.
Full support for this event comes from UNISA Yogyakarta’s Vice Rector I, Taufiqur Rahman, Ph.D. He expressed his commitment in supporting women’s rights around the world through this conference.
“The study of contemporary Islamic women’s rights is very relevant. Of course, because this conference is international, it is part of UNISA’s commitment to take part in global forums, part of the internationalization program as well,” he said.
In his press conference, Peter K. Munene, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Faith to Action Network (F2A), explained that F2A is an organization across religions, cultures, countries, and continents that was established in 2011. Various organizations from Indonesia, including Muhammadiyah, NU, and the Buddhist community, participated in forming this organization.
The global conference will be attended by 200 participants representing countries as diverse as Egypt, the United States, the United Kingdom, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Palestine, and many more. This broad participation marks the importance of women’s rights issues in the Islamic context, as well as the desire to expand dialog and cooperation across borders.
