Reduce Waste in Serangan With Sign and Banner Campaigns
Students of KKN Regular 04 Notoprajan, University of ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta, successfully initiated concrete actions in maintaining environmental cleanliness. On Monday (9/9), they handed over signs and banners prohibiting littering in RT 12, RW 02 Serangan, Notoprajan Village, Kemantren Ngampilan, Yogyakarta City.
Reduce Waste
This action aims to reduce the amount of waste thrown into the river and change the bad habits of residents in littering. The handover of the signs and banners was done at 16.00 WIB, as well as a reminder for residents of the importance of keeping the environment clean.
In addition to visual campaigns through signs and banners to reduce waste, KKN students also socialize Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation Number 10 of 2012 concerning Waste Management. The regulation stipulates sanctions for violators, namely 3 months imprisonment or a maximum fine of Rp 50,000,000.
Bambang, the head of RW 02 Serangan, appreciated the initiative of UNISA students. “I am very impressed and thankful to the KKN students of Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta who have made signs and banners prohibiting littering. Hopefully, residents will be more aware and no longer throw garbage into the river or carelessly,” he said.
In line with Bambang, Hadi as the Head of RT 12 also expressed his gratitude for the students’ assistance. “Thank you and hopefully these signs and banners will be useful to remind residents of the importance of keeping the environment clean,” he added.
