Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta through the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) in collaboration with the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau held a nonbar event for the Indonesian national team competing in the semifinals of the AFC Cup U23.

What made this event even more special was the dominance of women in the audience. In a euphoric atmosphere, the female audience not only provided vocal support for the Indonesian national team, but also showed their love for soccer.

UNISA Yogyakarta’s Vice Rector I, Taufiqur Rahman, Ph.D, was impressed by the overwhelming enthusiasm of the audience, especially since the majority of them were women.

In his speech, Taufiq said, “The achievement of our national team is really extraordinary to penetrate to the semifinals, this is what makes the interest that comes here so extraordinary, especially when I see most of the supporters are women.”

Not only an event to support the national team, this event was also an opportunity for the audience to enjoy consumption and musical entertainment provided by the committee. While waiting for the kick-off, the audience was invited to have fun and feel the warm atmosphere of togetherness.

Dr. Filosa Gita Sukmono, a communication expert who is also the manager of the PSHW UMY team, before the match began gave his views on the match that would take place between Uzbekistan and Indonesia in front of hundreds of spectators in attendance. Door prizes in the form of national team jerseys were distributed to spectators who could answer questions from the host to add to the excitement of the event.

With the dominance of women at the national team nonbar event, it shows that the spirit of sports knows no gender boundaries. This event is not only a place to support the Indonesian national team, but also a momentum to celebrate togetherness and the spirit of sportsmanship among students and the people of Yogyakarta.
