Strengthening Communication Curriculum, UNISA Prepares Excellent Graduates for Industry 4.0
Communication Studies Program of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta held a Workshop on Reviewing Graduate Learning Outcomes and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Study Materials. This event is UNISA’s strategic step in improving the quality of graduates and ensuring they are ready to face the challenges of an increasingly complex world of work.
In the era of digitalization and abundant information, the communication industry demands human resources who not only have strong theoretical knowledge, but also relevant practical skills. In response to these challenges, UNISA is committed to continuously developing a curriculum that is relevant to the needs of the industry.
Communication Experts Share Their Knowledge
The workshop featured communication experts from various backgrounds. Jojo S. Nugroho, founder of Imogen PR and CEO of Imajin PR & Research, emphasized the importance of a dynamic and adaptive curriculum to industry developments. Meanwhile, Aghnia Adzkia, an East Asia Data Journalist from BBC World Service, shared her experience in utilizing data to produce quality journalism. Yogie Fadila, IDN Times’ Hyperlocal Coordinator, provided insights on the importance of understanding audiences in content development.
Focus on Outcome-Based Education
The concept of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) was the main focus of this workshop. OBE emphasizes the achievement of expected learning outcomes from students. Thus, the curriculum developed will be more relevant to the needs of the world of work.
Through this workshop, it is hoped that the UNISA Communication Studies Program can increase the relevance of the curriculum and improve the quality of graduates and also strengthen networks.
