The Medical Laboratory Technology (TLM) Study Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta once again showed its commitment in producing quality graduates. This time, 170 TLM students from the class of 2021 participated in intensive training in preparation for Field Work Practices (PKL).

The activity that took place in the Baroroh Baried hall on Saturday (12/10) provided important briefings that are very relevant to the world of work.

The World of Work

The training included various crucial materials, such as Basic Life Support (BHD), Patient Safety, Infection Prevention and Control (PPI), and the use of Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR) guided by the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) team. These materials are very important to be mastered by prospective laboratory health workers, given the importance of patient and laboratory staff safety.

In addition to technical training, students also attended a studium general with the theme “Service of Excellent and Professional Ethics”. The speakers provided an in-depth understanding of professional ethics and excellent service that must be possessed by a medical laboratory worker.

“The main purpose of this briefing is to equip students with knowledge and skills needed in the world of work,” said Dhiah Novalina, S.Si., M.Si as the Head of TLM Study Program.

“With sufficient provision, we hope that students can make the best contribution to society,” she added.

This training activity received a positive response from students. They feel very helpful with the material presented and hope to apply the knowledge gained during the PKL.
