Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta is one step closer to the opening of the Undergraduate Medical Study Program and the Professional Medical Education Study Program. The Field Evaluation was conducted on Thursday (30/05) in the courtroom of Siti Moendjijah building. This activity is part of the process of proposing the opening of a new study program at the Faculty of Medicine, UNISA Yogyakarta.

The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, in her speech revealed the university’s long history in the health sector. Currently, UNISA has 12 health study programs.

“Efforts to support UNISA’s vision as a health-oriented campus are the main footing in the 2021-2025 strategic plan to plan the opening of a medical study program,” said Dr. Warsiti.

Furthermore, Dr. Warsiti emphasized UNISA’s commitment in supporting national health development goals. “As a form of our commitment to participate in realizing the goal of health development, namely the realization of the highest degree of public health, as an investment for the development of socially and economically productive human resources. This goal is not solely the task of the government but is a joint task of all components of the nation, including Aisyiyah,” said Warsiti.

Chairperson of UNISA Yogyakarta’s Daily Board of Trustees (BPH) and Chairperson of the Central Leadership of `Aisyiyah Dr. Siti Noordjannah Djohantini, M.M., M.Si also expressed full support from PP Aisyiyah.

“PP `Aisyiyah gives full support to every charity, one of which is UNISA Yogyakarta in carrying out its service to the community. Hopefully this service will provide results from the efforts we have been making,” said Noordjannah.

A team of nine evaluators was assigned to review all components and infrastructure that UNISA Yogyakarta has prepared. The evaluation covered various important aspects of opening the Faculty of Medicine, ensuring that all requirements and standards have been met.

The opening of the Medical Study Program at UNISA Yogyakarta is expected to be an important milestone in improving the quality of health education in Indonesia. With full support from various parties, UNISA Yogyakarta is optimistic that it can realize its vision of becoming a leading campus in the field of health.

Sleman, May 29, 2024 UNISA Yogyakarta received a visit from ABA 1 Salamrejo Kindergarten, Sentolo. The campus tour agenda was titled environmental education, which was attended by 59 kindergarten students, 59 student guardians, and 5 accompanying teachers. This activity aims to instill awareness of environmental love to children from an early age.

The event began with the opening by Tika Ainunnisa Fitria, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UNISA Yogya. Then continued with the introduction of various types of waste and how to manage them. Mrs. Wiwit Probowati, Ph.D., a lecturer of Biotechnology undergraduate program at UNISA Yogya who graduated from Saga University, delivered the material in an interesting and easy-to-understand way for the children.

The ABA kindergarten children were invited to understand the dangers of waste and the importance of protecting the environment. They were also taught ways to reduce waste, such as by using refillable drinking bottles and bringing their own shopping bags.

In addition, the children were also invited to do hands-on waste management. They were taught how to sort organic and non-organic waste, and how to make compost from organic waste.

This activity is expected to foster a sense of love for the environment in children from an early age. Thus, they can become a generation that cares and is responsible for environmental sustainability.

The Communication Science Study Program at Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Yogyakarta held a workshop entitled “Improving the Quality of Communication Science Laboratory Management Services” which took place in the 2nd floor Meeting Room of the Siti Moendjijah building. This activity was held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. This workshop is part of a series of grant programs for the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PKKM).

The workshop on Improving the Quality of Lab Services presented a speaker from the National Development University (UPN) Veteran Yogyakarta, Panji Dwi Ashrianto. This activity was attended by lecturers from the Communication Science Study Program, Head of UPT Laboratorium, and representatives of lab assistants from UNISA Yogyakarta. In his presentation, Panji emphasized the importance of improving the quality of laboratory services as an effort to support a more effective and efficient teaching and learning process. He also delivered various strategies and best practices in laboratory management that can be applied at UNISA Yogyakarta.

The Head of Communication Studies Program at UNISA Yogyakarta, Ade Putranto said, “This workshop is very useful for us in improving the competence and quality of services in the laboratory. With the knowledge and experience shared by Mr. Panji, we are optimistic that we can implement various innovations that will improve our laboratory performance.” Ade said.

In addition to the presentation sessions, the workshop also included interactive discussions and question and answer sessions that allowed participants to share experiences and find solutions together to various challenges faced in laboratory management.

The event was closed with a visiting lab session to review the facilities and infrastructure owned by UNISA Yogyakarta’s Communication Science Study Program. The follow-up plan of this activity is to improve the quality of laboratory services at UNISA Yogyakarta through the preparation of SOP Governance. This workshop also confirmed UNISA’s commitment to continuously improve the quality of education through collaboration and development programs that are relevant to the needs of the times.

The PKKM grant program that funded this activity is an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to encourage the improvement of the quality and competitiveness of higher education in Indonesia. Through this program, it is expected that various educational institutions can collaborate and share knowledge for mutual progress.

The Bureau of Public Relations and Protocol (BHP) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta held a workshop entitled “Wedangan Bareng Wartawan” at Resilent Cafe on Friday (24/05). The event aimed to strengthen the relationship between UNISA Yogyakarta and the journalists.

Sinta Maharani, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., as the Head of Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of UNISA Yogyakarta, said that this event was an opportunity to share information about various events in the framework of UNISA’s 33rd Anniversary.

“Here we discuss and provide information to the journalists present that we will hold several events in the framework of UNISA’s 33rd Anniversary,” said Sinta.

In a relaxed atmosphere, Sinta also emphasized the importance of input from journalists regarding the publication of UNISA Yogyakarta. “The casual chat with the journalists is also to ask for their input on the publication of UNISA Yogyakarta and in the future to strengthen the network between UNISA Yogyakarta and journalists,” she added.

Universitas Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta held a professional oath ceremony for 122 alumni of the midwifery profession program at the Convention Hall of Walidah Dahlan Mosque, UNISA Yogyakarta. The solemn event was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Moh Ali Imron, M.Fis, Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, and Chairperson of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) DIY, Sutarti, S.SiT., Bdn., MPH.

In his speech, Moh Ali Imron expressed his pride for the alumni who have successfully completed their education and are ready to go to the community. “In front of us today, the alumni of the UNISA midwifery profession are 122 midwives. Since 2021, UNISA Midwifery Program has graduated a total of 362 professional midwives. Of these 122 midwives, the UKOMNAS pass rate reached 96.1%, with the highest graduate achieving a GPA of 4.0,” he said.

Moh Ali Imron also added that UNISA midwife alumni have spread and developed their careers in various health service facilities (fasyankes), independent practices, and other sectors. “With such a profile, UNISA midwife alumni will have a professional spirit and will be the right people to carry out the mandate as stated in verse 58 of Surah An-Nisa. From the knowledge and skills of these midwives, the improvement of maternal and child health in particular and public health will continue to increase,” she said.

Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat in her speech said that the future challenges of midwifery will be more complex. “The future challenges of midwifery include adaptation to technology, the complexity of health problems, and the need for qualified competence. Aisyiyah midwives must be able to become actors of change. Therefore, Aisyiyah midwives must have a character in line with the character of progressive women, namely women who have an advanced state of mind and living conditions in all aspects without experiencing obstacles and discrimination both structurally and culturally,” she explained.

Warsiti also emphasized that advanced women are women who are knowledgeable with the foundation of faith, as stated in the treatise of progressive women.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) DIY, Sutarti, S.SiT., Bdn., MPH also gave her speech. She emphasized that Aisyiyah midwives must be strong soldiers of God. “Aisyiyah midwives must be able to open independent practices, carry out quality services in accordance with predetermined standards and guidelines,” she said.

The professional oath ceremony ended with the reading of the oath by the inaugurated midwives, witnessed by UNISA officials, representatives of professional organizations, families, and other invited guests. The newly appointed midwives are expected to bring positive changes and contribute significantly to improving maternal and child health in Indonesia.
