The Muhammadiyah Student Association (PK IMM) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta once again showed its concern for the community, especially orphans. On Friday, PK IMM FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of cooperation with Orphanage Yatim Putri ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta City, Friday (26/07).
This collaboration focuses on empowering the health of female students through routine health checks, health data processing, and psychological assistance. The signing of the MoU was welcomed by both parties, especially by the Chairperson of the Yogyakarta Yatim Putri ‘Aisyiyah Orphanage, Dra. Hj Han’ah Hanum who appreciated the initiative of PK IMM FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta.
“We, fellow Muhammadiyah, are certainly very welcoming when there are organizations that visit, let alone collaborate like this, especially with a health focus like this,” said Mrs. Han’ah.
In this activity, in addition to signing the MoU, there was also counseling on body composition delivered by Sister Tis’a Salma M, Head of Health and Environment, Regional Leader of Nasiyatul ‘Aisyiyah (PDNA) Yogyakarta City. This counseling was followed by a direct health check to the female students conducted by the PK IMM Social Empowerment Division.
Chairman of PK IMM FIKes UNISA Yogyakarta for the period 2023/2024, Nur Ida Ersafabanyo, explained that this collaboration is the first step in building an empowerment village.
“We want PK IMM FIKes not only to focus on villages, but also to make a real contribution to institutions such as orphanages,” said Ersa.
Furthermore, Ersa also said that they are currently focusing on stunting and mental health issues. “Hopefully, with this collaboration we can conduct research and efforts to prevent stunting and provide psychological assistance for female students,” she added.
