Pelatihan laboratorium 1

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving the quality of health education. This is evidenced by the Health Education Laboratory Management Training held by UPT Laboratorium UNISA Yogyakarta which lasted for two days, August 15-16, 2024, in the courtroom of the Siti Moendjijah building.

This training is a strategic step for UNISA Yogyakarta in responding to global challenges that increasingly demand mastery of science and technology (IPTEK). Laboratories, as the heart of practical learning, play a crucial role in producing graduates who are competent and ready to face the world of work.

“Adequate laboratory conditions and good management are very important to support the practical learning process,” said Dr. Sulistyaningsih, S.KM., MH.Kes, Vice Rector I of UNISA Yogyakarta.

“Through this training, we hope that the quality of laboratory services at UNISA can continue to be improved so as to produce quality graduates,” she added.

Laboratory Management Challenges

Head of UPT Laboratorium UNISA Yogyakarta Dr. Dhesi Ari Astuti, S.SiT., M.Kes said that one of the challenges faced by many educational institutions is the unoptimal laboratory management. The diverse conditions of laboratory infrastructure, ranging from the availability of tools, materials, to data management, often become obstacles in the implementation of practicum.

“This training provides provisions for laboratory assistants in managing laboratories effectively and efficiently,” said Dhesi. “Thus, the laboratory can be a conducive place for learning and research.”

Comprehensive Training Materials

The training, which was attended by 70 participants from various regions in Indonesia, presented a very comprehensive material with several competent speakers. Starting from anatomy laboratory management, K3 biomedical laboratory, to information system-based laboratory management. The participants were also given the opportunity to discuss and share experiences with competent resource persons in their fields.

Expectations for the Future

With this training, it is hoped that the laboratories at UNISA Yogyakarta can become a reference for other educational institutions. In addition, graduates of the health study program at UNISA are expected to have high competence and be ready to compete at the national and international levels.
