Yogyakarta, March 15, 2025 – Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta is very grateful to have the opportunity to send two grassroots preachers from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to perform Umrah. This departure is a form of appreciation for their dedication in preaching in the 3T (frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped) areas and contribution in building a society based on progressive Islamic values.
The Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Warsiti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat., said that this program is part of UNISA Yogyakarta’s commitment to support preachers who are struggling in the field, especially in areas that have significant da’wah challenges. “We hope that this Umrah trip will not only be a meaningful spiritual experience for the preachers, but also strengthen their da’wah spirit in guiding the ummah,” said Warsiti, Saturday (15/3/2025).
The dispatched preachers, Abdul Qadir Lenamah and Zulkifli, have devoted themselves to NTT for years with various educational and community empowerment programs. One of them, Abdul Qadir Lenamah, expressed his gratitude for this opportunity. “This is an extraordinary gift. Hopefully this trip will strengthen our determination in preaching and serving the ummah,” he said.
The Umrah departure is part of UNISA Yogyakarta’s program to support the development of da’wah in areas that still need strengthening. In the future, UNISA Yogyakarta hopes to continue to contribute in empowering preachers and the community through various educational, health, social, and religious programs.
