Antariksa 2024 in collaboration with Aisyiyah University (Unisa) Yogyakarta organized a workshop with the theme “Unite for Safety: fostering public awareness in driving” held at Baroroh Baried Hall, 4th floor, Unisa Yogyakarta Integrated Campus, which was attended by approximately 200 participants from various backgrounds. Saturday (20/07)
This workshop presents three main speakers who are experts in their respective fields. The first speaker was AKBP Mrs. Widya Mustika ningrum, S.Sos as Kasubdit Kamsel Ditlantas Polda DIY, who provided an in-depth understanding of the importance of obeying traffic regulations in accordance with the Law. Mrs. Widya emphasized that discipline and awareness in traffic is the key to creating a safe driving environment for all road users.
Mas Rang, a well-known influencer as a motorcycle kid with 49.5 thousand followers on his Instagram account @masrang_, shared his experience about being sensitive to road conditions and the importance of responsible driving behavior. He gave practical tips to participants to be more aware of the driving environment and prioritize the safety of themselves and other road users. “There are four points that must be considered when we want to travel using a private vehicle, the first is our self-awareness about traffic, the second is obeying traffic rules, the third is the condition of the vehicle, and the last is our physical condition as a driver.”
The third speaker was a representative from Astra Safety Riding center Yogyakarta, who focused on the care and maintenance of motorcycle stamina for both long and short distance trips. They also conducted live demonstrations on good and safe riding techniques, as well as the use of safety equipment such as helmets and other protective gear.
Not only the Workshop event, Antariksa 2024 in collaboration with Honda opened a motorcycle service stand with a 50% discount and also in collaboration with the traffic police opened a stand to extend the sim (mobile sim) at the 33rd Unisa anniversary bazaar held in the courtyard of the Unisa Yogyakarta integrated campus.
The event not only offered knowledge and insights, but also became an interactive forum where participants could ask questions directly to the speakers about driving safety topics. Discussion and exchange of ideas between participants from various backgrounds also enriched the learning experience in this workshop.
“The “Unite for Safety” activity organized by Antariksa 2024 is very helpful especially with the rampant accidents around the unisa campus, and also from the campaign campaign that was run before the peak event of this workshop really made me realize about driving safety, thank you antariksa for caring about us,” said one of the participants of this workshop.
