Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta received a comparative study visit from Nazhatut Thullab Al Muafa Sampang University, Madura, in the Meeting Room of Siti Moendjiyah Building, Friday (9/5). This activity aims to deepen insights related to the management of the Nutrition Study Program, as part of the preparation for the program’s first accreditation at Nazhatut Thullab Al Muafa University Sampang, Madura.
Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) UNISA Yogyakarta, Dr. Dewi Rokhanawati, MPH, in her speech, said that the Nutrition Study Program of UNISA has achieved Excellent accreditation and continues to be committed to the development of educational quality.
“Alhamdulillah, UNISA’s Nutrition Study Program has now been accredited as Excellent. However, we do not yet have a Nutrition Professional Study Program because we are still waiting for policies from the government regarding its opening,” she explained.
The delegation from Nazhatut Thullab Al Muafa University was led by the Rector, Zairina, S.IP., M.M. In her speech, Zairina expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome from UNISA and explained the main purpose of their visit.
“We came to gain knowledge related to the management of the Nutrition Study Program, in preparation for the first accreditation. We want to learn about the vision and mission, curriculum, infrastructure, and learning support. In Madura, we are the only university that has a Nutrition Study Program. Today we will share knowledge and discuss the eight accreditation criteria,” said Zairina.
The event continued with the handover of souvenirs between the two institutions as a symbol of cooperation and a brief profile presentation of the Nutrition Study Program of UNISA Yogyakarta by the Head of the Nutrition Study Program of UNISA, Agung Nugroho, AMG, MPH.
In his presentation, Agung emphasized the excellence of the scientific vision of UNISA Nutrition Study Program which focuses on the field of women’s nutrition with a family approach, as well as learning based on progressive Islamic values. He also explained the curriculum structure, learning facilities including laboratories, and field work practices that are carried out in collaboration with health centers in the Sleman area. Practical activities include clinical staging, food program management (MPM), and community staging.
In addition, Agung explained that UNISA Nutrition Study Program students are active in research, especially in the field of food technology. Three student innovation products are currently in the process of simple patents, and a number of student works are also routinely exhibited in various academic activities.
