Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta once again held its much anticipated annual event, the UNISA Youth Games (UYG). The event, which was attended by 34 high schools across Yogyakarta and Central Java, was themed around Mental Health, raising the important issue of adolescent mental wellbeing.

This year, UYG presented three competitions, namely Marching Troops, Photography, and Mural, which became a competition for high school students to express their creativity. Dr. Warsiti, Rector of UNISA Yogyakarta, in the opening ceremony of UYG on Saturday (27/04) emphasized the importance of this event as a place to showcase the achievements of high school students.

“This competition is not only about winning, but also about rewarding the hard work and dedication of the participants,” she said.

Warsiti added that UNISA Yogyakarta also provides Achievement Scholarships for all champions as a form of appreciation for their achievements.

Head of the Admissions Bureau, Intan Mutiara Putri, SST, M.Keb revealed that the UNISA Youth Games is not just a competition, but also an important platform to celebrate the spirit of competition, promote mental health, and encourage the values of togetherness among high school students.

“UYG is an integrated event between education and art that is held with the spirit of togetherness with the theme ‘Relax There is Unisa’,” she explained.

This event is also a momentum for UNISA Yogyakarta to emphasize its commitment in supporting the development of mental health of the younger generation and giving them a platform to express themselves through their various talents. Hopefully, activities like UYG can continue to inspire other educational institutions to participate in efforts to improve the mental well-being of young people.
