The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of Universitas `Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta successfully held a preceptor mentor training with the theme “Collaborative Synergy to Produce Excellent and Progressive Graduates”. The two-day event, which took place on September 27-28, 2024, at the UNISA Yogyakarta integrated campus was attended by 237 participants from various health professions throughout Indonesia.

FIKES UNISA

This training is a strategic step for FIKES UNISA in improving the quality of clinical education. Since the transition to the Higher Education Curriculum in 2016, the role of Clinical Instructor (CI) or clinical supervisor is increasingly crucial in shaping student competence. With this training, CIs are expected to be effective facilitators in guiding students to achieve the set competency standards.

Dr. Dewi Rokhanawati, S.SiT., M.PH, Dean of FIKES UNISA Yogyakarta, expressed her gratitude for this face-to-face training.

“After several years of being constrained by the pandemic, we can finally hold this training offline again. We hope that the participants can absorb useful knowledge and improve the quality of clinical guidance in each institution,” he said.

Comprehensive Training Materials

The participants received comprehensive training materials, ranging from the basic concepts of the preceptor’s role, the stages of the clinical learning process, to the implementation of student evaluations. Seven competent resource persons shared their knowledge and experience to equip the participants.

With this training, FIKES UNISA is committed to producing health graduates who not only have strong knowledge, but also have qualified clinical skills. The graduates are expected to be professional health workers and able to provide quality health services.
