Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving the welfare of the community through community service programs. This time, the UNISA community service team managed to get a grant from DRTPM Directorate General of Diktiristek Kemendikristek RI to develop the INTAN PRIBUMI program: Intensification of Tilapia Fish Cultivation through the Application of Micro Bubble Technology, Sunday (22/09).

This program targets the Mina Sejahtera group of fish farmers who face challenges in increasing aquaculture productivity. Through training and application of microbubble technology, it is expected to improve the quality and quantity of tilapia production, resulting in an increase in farmers’ income.

Microbubble Technology: An Innovative Solution for Fish Farming

The microbubble technology applied in this program has several advantages, including:

  • Increase oxygen levels: Microbubble can increase dissolved oxygen levels in water, so that fish can grow more optimally.
  • Energy efficiency: The use of electrical energy is much lower compared to conventional aeration systems.
  • Improves water quality: Microbubble helps keep water quality stable, minimizing the risk of disease in fish.

Training and Mentoring Support Program Success

The INTAN PRIBUMI team has conducted intensive training for Pokdakan Mina Sejahtera members. The training covered various aspects, from intensive tilapia farming techniques, water quality monitoring, to product marketing. In addition, the program is also equipped with a digital branding workshop to help farmers market their products more widely.

“We are very enthusiastic about this program. The microbubble technology and training provided are very useful for us. We are sure that with the application of this technology, our tilapia production will increase significantly,” said Muhammad Kosim, Secretary of Pokdakan Mina Sejahtera.
