Public Facilities

For three full days on September 6 – 8, 2024, UNISA KKN students and the youth of Dabag 1 Hamlet worked together to repaint the kamling post and village monument. Before the painting process, the surface to be painted was cleaned first for maximum results. Bright colors such as green, yellow, and white were chosen to give a cheerful and fresh impression to the public facilities.

The ‘Aisyiyah University (UNISA) Reg 06 Community Service Program (KKN) Yogyakarta successfully held a free health check-up program for the elderly in RW 4 Tejokusuman Yogyakarta. The activity, which was held on Monday (02/09), received a warm welcome from the residents, as evidenced by the presence of more than 70 elderly people who enthusiastically followed the series of events.

Health Checkup

The free health check-up, which includes checking blood sugar and blood pressure as well as elderly gymnastics, aims to detect degenerative diseases that are often experienced by the elderly, such as diabetes and hypertension. With early detection, it is expected to prevent more serious complications and improve the quality of life of the elderly.

“We are very happy to see the enthusiasm of the residents,” said Nanda Intan, one of the UNISA KKN students. “This proves that our program is really needed by the community, especially the elderly who often find it difficult to access health services,” she continued.

The elderly gymnastics that were part of this event also provided enormous benefits. In addition to maintaining body fitness, elderly gymnastics can also improve mood and reduce the risk of depression that is often experienced by the elderly.

Srini, a representative of RW 4 Tejokusuman residents, expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by UNISA Yogyakarta KKN students.

“Activities like this are very useful for us. Hopefully in the future it can continue to be done regularly,” he said.

The success of this program cannot be separated from the support of various parties, including the elderly management, health team, chairman of RW 4 Tejokusuman, and guidance from Field Supervisors (DPL). This success is expected to inspire other KKN groups to continue contributing to improving the welfare of the community.
